Bioshock: Best optimized game I have EVER tried.

I'm able to run the demo maxed out @ 1280x1024 using a 7800gtx and 2gb ram (DX9 duh!).

I was expecting to run it at medium/high because the recommended card itself is a 7900. But wow... ran it fine with NO lag whatsoever. Very surprised... very well done indeed.

I ran this game at 1440x900 flawlessly with all the graphical settings turned up to high. Here's a screen I took, which had to be resized because I didn't want to lose the integrity of the shot by converting the BMP to JPEG:

The game is running very fine !!! You can get optimized 163.44 forcewares to run it finer.

Yes, quite well done. The framerate was always pretty high on my rig, and given the quality of the graphics, I'm VERY impressed. Most games with half the graphical goodness of Bioshock run only slightly faster.

i want to know how it runs on lower end rigs. i made a thread about this earlyer but naturaly it got locked *rolls eyes*

I would like to hear how it runs on something like a AMD 64bit 3000 cpu,6800gt and 1gig ram. or even a 6600gt

not well though extremely beautiful looking, this game is no where near as optimized as the source enginedeleted_basic

The source engine runs smoother, sure, but it lacks many graphical features of the Unreal engine. HL:2 still looks good, but Bioshock looks significantly better. But there's always room for improvement; hopefully the next driver release or game patch will optimize the game even more!

im not exactly excited about bioshock, still downloading the demo, if it runs great on my pc then maybe ill think about buying it

the source engine is pretty damn well optimized too. Half life 2 is pretty much the most optimized game i have played.greatmax1
