I'm really considering getting Bioshock via Steam, because it would be alot faster and easier. I never thought about this until now, but does Steam let you do game backups onto DVD's?

if you right click a game it has backup game files and i think you can select the dvd drive to back up the games to.

i think you can backup all the games the disc has room for on 1 disc

EDIT: i just learned of it being on steam from this post. sounds better than controller (and i can just hook my controller up to my computer anyways heh)

you can redownload games at any time. i bought half life 2 and if i want, i can redownload it through steam, no cd required. id imagine its the same for a game you bought through stream, esp. since you never got a cd

i would buy it off steam too, but.... having a physical copy of the game is always good. Getting your steam account hacked and stolen is possible and if you have a lot of "downloaded from steam" games, it can be pretty painful.

The best scenario would be to buy the retail gamed, register it on steam, and then be able to play without the cd. That would be perfect : physical copy for extra security, all the goodies that come with the box, no need for cd and auto-updating.

I already ordered it from steam, have 22 games and have been using it forever. I love it, less junk cd's and boxes laying around, and you don't have to insert a disk every time you want to play. You can make a hard copy backup of your game data if you wish as well.
