BioShock!! Thats not an even a comparable question, Out of the question BioShock is way way better.0Goldeneye0
Stop being such a fanboy.
Anyways. I enjoyed them both.
Overall, do u think bioshock or stalker is better?Yanduan
I'm gunna have to go with Bioshock on this one. STALKER was great fun, but the lack of damage from the weapons made it very unrealistic and annoying at times.
Playing through S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at the moment. I think it's extremely cool. Reminds me of Deus Ex somewhat, not as good obviously, but it's the first game I've played in a long time that has me recalling elements of Deus Ex. The enviroments, terrain, etc. are great, just has an awesome feeling to it.
I played the demo of BioShock and will eventually play the full game (still steamed about the activation/DRM bs). The demo was cool, but it looks like it's going to be a much more closed environment type of game (opposed to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.). I expect it will be great as well though! ;)
although i never played any of them (bioshock cant run SM2.0 cards and S.T.A.L.K.E.R is badly optimized), i would say bioshock from wat i hear bout the aptmosphere....although i havent heard much bout stalker story so i dont take my word for it
And BTW: this thread would be better with a poll in it =)
How do I fail? From what I've read in the stalker forums there are still many people having problems with Stalker even after the patch..captalcholStalker works fine on your precious OS, but you still fail to realize that. Don't go bashing when you don't know the facts.
[QUOTE="Decado_basic"]STALKER seems to be getting a lot of mod support. Are there mods in development for Bioshock?BounceDKWho wants to mod a game that has 2 installs available? ... I'm talking about Bioshock for the unaware.
The next patch will "fix" that and even if they didn't make one, you know it would be cracked almost instantly. Foolish reason not to want mods for a game.

If the dev doesn't support the game one bit, why should mod .. I'm lost.. 2K ruined it, simple as that.so, ya in my eyes, i havent even played stalker , and bioshock is better, haha jk, but since i havent played stalker im gonna have to go with bioshock, but i didnt have any liking towards stalker.
The two games aren't even comparable. Bioshock wins hands down. onemic
Thats just your opinion, nothing else.
Personally i think Bioshock is one of the most overrated games in recent memory, its a fun game, but GEEEZ, most reviewers have giving it almost top points, so i expected to be blown away. But no even close, great atmosphere but otherwise its a normal standard fps. Stalker has so much more going for it, and it felt like a fresh breath of air in the fps genre when i played it.

Did I say it was anything more? I didn't.
I've already talked of STALKER's problems ad nauseum so I won't bother posting them again.
I haven't played Bioshock yet, so I have to ask this question. Are they even of the same genre? It's not really a fair comparison if they aren't. I've played STALKER, and despite som flaws, I enjoy it a lot, and I have found myself delaying beating the game just so I can explore the game world. I'm hoping that Bioshock will give me incentive to do the same.
Hardly fair to compare the two, they are completely different, i love the adventure aspect of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. more, but in raw graphics wise it isnt even a contest, BioShock slays S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in almost every way possible.
I vote S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but im an action-adventure, RPG and FPS fan-boy, so this had allot more of the other aspects in it and won on my list.
s.t.a.l.k.e.r is what i call a flawed masterpiece - it's a good game, but certain elements of the game (or lack thereof) prevent it from true greatness... i will not bother going into the individual elements that make stalker good/bad, i'm sure that's already been covered many times over
bioshock is a great game in its own right, but it's also a recycled version of system shock 2 - this is my problem with bioshock... when someone copies their previosu work, or that of another - no matter how good it may be in its own right, it's never going to be as good as the original, and for those who played the original, the effect is amplified several times over because it just feels like a ripoff
while bioshock is a great game, i find it impossible to really give the game the kind of high praise many others give it because system shock 2 is fundamentally identical - from narrative structure to gameplay structure to mission structure, only system shock 2 does it way, way better
buuut in the end, i still think bioshock takes it, i had more pleasure playing it, the production values are higher (which does count when it comes to immersive, atmospheric and engrossing environments - around which both games are based), and even if it is literally a copy of shock 2's story, bioshock's story is structured better and told better than stalker's- at least in theenglish version (i gather the ukranian version (or whatever it was?) works much better) - hammy dialogue and broken english really spoilt stalker for me... i hope clear sky uses a native tongue and subtitles for english versions...
they are both good games, and while s.t.a.l.k.e.r may be heavily influenced by several sources, it is at least an original game - bioshock, while the better experience all round, in my opinion, is still just a recycled version of a much better game
take that for whatever it's worth
