bioshock wont install! please help!

i have had bioshock since it came out, when I tried to play it today, avg told me it contained a virus, i uninstalled the game,...now when i try to reinstall when the autopatch thing finishes it says its invalid and therefor does not install, I am extremely frustrated with this problem....all i want to do is play the game i paid $60 for

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try this out and see if it will work for you.

First - Uninstall BioShock

Second - Go into your registry by typing regedit in your "Run" section of the start menu. To be on the safe side create a backup of your registry before you delete anything. Do a ctl+f or click on the "Edit" tab and choose "Find" to bring up the find option. In the find type in bioshock then hit the "FindNext"button. Clear out any entries you find in the registry including any folders you find there. You may also want to do a search for2KGames and clear out those entries as well. Make sure you only delet entries or folders that are related to BioShock.

Third - Turn off AVG in the AVG control panel (Don't forget to turn it back on once you are done).

Fourth - Reinstall BioShock, if you receive any errors just click ignore. Those errors should be fixed when the game auto patches.
