ok so im goign to build a new rig just for the heck of it maybe build it for my dad or myself it i get hard ware that is better then my current PC.

my question is.i open up a few pre builts from Sony, Lenvno, and a HP. i cant help and notice the Sony PC had all Foxcon mother board, while the Lenvno had Biostar, and the HP also had a Foxcon mobo.

so im asking is i know a lot of people say dont go with them i know. but this is my moneya nd im just building a PC just for the heck of. out of those 3 AsRock, Biostar, Foxcon, is the better company? so far i seen Biostar and ASRock has more to offer

i just saw this ASRock mobo that has both DDR2 and DDR3 support which i think is sweet for a good price

All 3 companies have made some very good products and some pretty bad ones. I've used motherboards from all 3 companies in the past, and so far my best experience has been with AsRock. Having used quite a few Asus motherboards as well, AsRock is very familiar to me.. as they are a subsidiary of Asus. They use many of the same components, and also the same BIOS. They're like Asus-lite. Typically you get a lot of features for the price, but a slightly cheaper feel than an Asus board. I have the M3A770DE motherboard. So far my experience has been good.. just don't expected a great overclocking board or a lot of extra bells and whistles.

well that makes cents ASUS ASRock. both with AS in front of it. well if ASRock is a sub.. from ASUS then thats more comfortable to hear. does ASUS, MSI or Gigabyte make any mobo that has DDR2/DDR3 support? becuase my dad will save money reusing his DD2 but when its time he can just buy DDR3 RAM. becuase the buid im goign to build is going to have a AM3 CPU in it anyway.

i know Gigabyte ASUS and MSI for me are " house brand"name companys. there products are the one syou know you have a very high chance it will work and last.

while the others BioStar, Foxcon, ASROCK are the companys you play risk with.

Almost all motherboard companies buy a license for a particular BIOS and use in on their boards after some tweaking. The two most prevalent companies are American Megatrends and Phoenix.

Go for Gigabyte. I wouldn't choose any of those three brands.

I've had great luck with Gigabyte, but ASUS and MSI also make outstanding MB's. They are all rock solid (pardon the pun) ....I almost went with an Asrock (love that name) a few years back because it did offer the option to run DDR2 & 3 memory and got very good reviews, but went with one of the first ASUS boards that supported the new C2D chips released at the time instead.

if it isnt giga-byte or asus nowdays, you are most likely buying a budget board.(with some exceptions)

MSI was great back in the day, DFI (sniff, sniff) was my favorite brand for Athlon 64's, and shuttle didnt make a bad board either.(still have a nforce 2 ultra board that still works to this day by them)

but since 2006 (when I bought my e6400) ive used only gigabyte boards(starting with the P965-DS3), and cant say I've had any problems with them, and they all have overclocked great. cant go wrong with them.

I have used an Asrock P4s61 with my p4 3ghz for 4 years and it is still running OK in my secondary pc.So ASrock is good enough for me and I can hope you can't go wrong with it.Their boards don't offer too much overclockability but offer a lot of features not found in other brand's boards in the same price range.
