Is Black and White 2 an over-rated game or something? I'm asking because I know it got good reviews, but the thing is, everywhere that sells it near where I live sells it like it's an abomination, because places sell it for at the most $5-$10. it might be because it came out a little while ago.

I waited until recently to get the game, mainly because it came down in price. The game is "old" by retail standards, so I was lucky to find it on the shelf at all. It was worth the purchase, but seems to require a well upgraded pc to run on... After like 4 or 5 levels it's starting to run slow and choppy on me. Not recommended for older pc's (and mine is only 6 months old!).

DOWNLOAD IT !!!!!

black&white 2 is a total scam !!!!

once you've done the full single player, your creature won't be so big yet, you'd need to redo the single player all over again and again to continue power up your creature
but the difficulty stays the same while you are stronger, so it's so boring

PLUS, why working on getting a big creature while you can't even go online to show it to everybody

the controls over the creature are too easy and too direct, you just can choose exactly what is good or not for it to do

conclusion : they lost all the good things that were in B&W 1

Somehow i agree to that even that i've never played the first one. I did play b&w 2 tru because all the good thing i had heard about the first game. I just felt like a game that was ripped by EA and made extremely casual friendly.

The game had no depht what so ever. It got boring too fast when i could have been a classic.

The reason why its cheap is because, well, its not exactly new or anything. I think it came out in '05.

B&W 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> B&W 2. For me, Black and White 2 was A HUGE letdown, more than any other game I ever played that was a sequel. They completely made miracles useless for capturing villages. It was more about MAKING your city rather than capturing cities to gain influence to rain **** on your opponents. The tribute system kinda ruined the creature, I loved teaching my creature miracles and teaching him to cast them. Creature combat was also a letdown, in original B&W it was like a 3d fighting game that you could control your creature to dodge, block, attack, and even cast miracles in the midst of combat. They took out skirmish battles, in B&W 1, you could skirmish anywhere at anytime, and it would save the stats of your creature. Get the 1st one if you really want the expierence.

B&W 2 wasn't worth the money for me. I played B&W 1 more than 2 this year.

The first Black and White was really a love or hate thing. I for one, hated tediously building up your creature. The fact I had to cast a certain miracle over and over again for it to truly learn something it was quite boring. However, that is because I am quite impatient, I won't deny it. Also, it's rather pointless to be evil in the first game as it makes it harder for you to complete. On the other hand, the sequel is a much more simplistic game compared to its Black and White 1. If you enjoyed the first one, I very much doubt you would enjoy the second. But, I can say this much, I actually enjoyed Black and White 2. I admit the creature feels less like a actual "thing" because of the teaching system, but it's considerably easier and less time consuming. Yet, somtimes it's a bit too simplistic. Such as the armies, where basically it's whoever has the larger army wins. Catapults and pretty much useless because a creature can supplment in its place. Even though it's literally 12 hours of gameplay, for 10 bucks, you can't really go wrong. Espescially when you take into consideration the custom maps available on the internet, which can replace the missing skirmish mode.
