Hey guys watsup, What is your opinion of the Black Ops preorder on steam? Are you getting it? I am actually quite suprised its not top seller yet. Even when Modern warfare 2 was near its release date it was top seller and it didn't have any of the additions that Black Ops has.

Since a lot of people were very disappointed with MW2, it makes sense why pre-orders may be down quite a bit. Not a lot of trust when it comes to Activision.

Probably because: 1) MW2 was a disappointment, especially for PC gamers 2) IW is no longer going to be involved in the franchise 3) People are starting to get tired of the series thanks to its annual releases, much like how people got sick of Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

It's 10 euro that's about 14 dollar more expensive to preorder here.

so when I buy it in a store it's cheaper I get a disc manual and box plus it will also be tied to my steam account.

that all for a 5minute walk ( I probably will have it 1 day before the release )

so why on earth should I want to preorder at the steam store ???

also it doesn't make sence since I will get the same practical advantages of the steam version when I buy it from the store.

I can throw away the dvd and box whipe my *** with the manual ( watch out with paper cuts when you do )

Didnt MW2 outsold any of the other previous COD games? I wouldnt take the amount of hate MW2 gets here as any indication on how people felt towards the game in the real world. PC gamers love their COD as do console gamers.

Flawed logic. MW1 was intensely popular when it was released, so it was only natural there would be a ton of hype surrounding the second game, including first-day purchases and preorders.

I will happily concede the argument that questions MW2's disappointing nature when Black Ops outsells MW2.

Very true....but if you think people are tired of annual installments NOW, just wait until they get them down to one every 6 months. Activision just got the 3rd and 4th CoD developer going this year, so this is coming. It will suffer the fate of Guitar Hero in the end (although I think Black Ops will sell pretty well).

its very simple really.. sledge hammer is doing black ops 9theyve never made a game (worth talking about)

and their company is small. this is like placing your bets on anything city interactive makes this year as being a huge success :P

black ops wont make it to the top of the qeu anyway because folks want in on the DNF beta

This, coupled with the fact that it is stupid to preorder games (especially crappy games like this one), but understandable of course if it's Diablo III or something like that.

I don't feel the urge to pay for the game now... I'm probably not the only one. I guess I'll wait and see because the 2 last CoD weren't as good as what I expected (especially that you pay 60$ each year for the almost exact game and a VERY short campaign).

It's not top seller because Fallout just came out. Also, Batman is dirt cheap right now.

Yeah this exactly. A hyped game just came out, a brilliant game is cheap as dirt and its not even out yet. People want to THINK that its doing poorly because they're upset about the lack of dedicated servers in MW2 - time to move on men!

When that day comes, I'll probably go back to playing MMO's. I'm being serious.

I think you mean Modern Warfare..? Treyarch is definitely the team behind Black Ops, the game comes out in like 2 weeks.

Anyways it's probably pretty low because there's no incentive to prepurchase on Steam and it will probably be the most expensive platform to buy it on seeing as there will be lots of stores selling it for cheaper. Here in Aus it's 90USD on Steam and it will be easy to find the boxed PC version for 80AUD on release day.

It's currently 3rd. Behind Fallout New Vegas which was basically just released and Batman AA which had a huge sale. In a week it will probably take the top spot and keep it for a while (excluding crazy weekly deals)

What he said. Pretty sure it'll get the top spot once the game actually releases. Pre-orders don't actually determine anything.

Preorders worldwide have already passed MW2... It just isn't possible for it to fail... It will be the same game, same combat system, same predictable storyline just different characters and guns... I still wanna buy it for PC though :P Dedicated servers and Treyarch!!! TREYARCH!! Yay!

Plus the fact it's cheaper buying retail might have hurt the preorders. But then again some people don't even leave their house and would pay the extra money just to keep that trend up.
