I have been playing DoD:Source and some other source games, and most of the time the text is corrupt in the HUD or some textures are all black. It happens at random and occasionally the game will also crash or my PC will restart. I have updated and rolled-back my graphics drivers and I have updated directX but it doesn't help.

My specs:

OS: XP Home

Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 3GHz (2CPUs)

Memory: 1020MB RAM

DirectX 9.0c

ATI Radeon X1600/1650 Series 512MB DDR2

HELP!

I've also had stuff like that be a result of missing/corrupt game files, you may want to reinstall or update the game.

Uninstall and remove all traces of the game, reinstall it. Then apply the latest graphics drivers from ATI. If that doesn't solve it, I have no idea... :?

This is a good start. Something overheating would cause hangs/corruption/system restarts.

Download CPUID Hardware monitor. Nice little app that shows all you need.

So... Does anyone have any real advise? But I dont think its overheating because when i play a steam game (ie DoD Source) the game crashes or my PC restartes right as soon as I join a server?!
