blizzard wins court case vs private server network

blizard today has settled an arguement in court over a network of private servers for the world of warcraft. these private server suppliers have been forced to fork over 88million us dollar as an apology. all these servers will then be shut down. as to the name of these servers. sorry i cant help you there. but if you belong to a private wow server.. expect the worst and pray for the best.. that handed out ALOT of private servers.

So this is for private servers that charge ppl and not private servers that let ppl play for free? I dont see a problem with free private servers ppl have brought the game and should be able to do wtf they like. Especially how much blizzard changed the game.

Yeah you already paid them for the game times however many expansions they've made so far. You are definitely stealing if you decide to unsub with Blizzard.

The bandwagon on GS is against piracy I'm afraid. There is no other option besides getting B& LOL

I actually think it's good that Blizz are doing this and won. It will clamp down on this private sever BS. Any think that is anti-piracy is good. Think if there was no PC piracy devs would invest a hell of a lot more in PC gaming, because there would be better sales.

You spend your time developing a program only for somebody to steal it and make money off of it. This isn't a victimless crime, they stole from Blizzard. It doesn't matter if Blizzard makes tons of money, it's still stealing intellectual propriety and selling.

I don't mind piracy at all, I would however gladly punch those who try to actively profit from it. Glad those guys got what was coming for them.
