Wow still remains the champion of MMOs. Been playing it on and off since the start and won't be dying off anytime soon.

I used to play WoW, it's an amazing game, but I just eventually got sick of it. Probably because I didnt have a consistent friend to quest with. I saw someone post that they couldnt get into SC2, if thats still the case that'll suck, I'm stil very active on it.

WoW does seem to get old if you're not playing with RL friends, especially since BC and WotLK if you're not playing with friends it has become very depersonalized in subtle ways. Being in a guild with people you met in game is nice, and even better if you actually arrange to meet them outside of the game like my first guild, they would have WoW parties and travel across the country to visit. The talent behind the game is world class and it is no doubt excellently crafted and polished, and uber fun. But I don't have a desire to play it anymore even with Cata it's lost the magic and appeal for me, I think it's mostly because I'm not playing with friends anymore and the boat load of hours I've put into it.

Anyways to address the title of this thread, Blizzard is not ****, they are masters at what they do and their actions are completely rational and extremely smart. Have some patience and don't whine like a little ***** over such a small issue.

I think coming into a thread, saying something sucks, and using "my opinion" as a shield is just weak. I think people need to stop doing that now, they need to at least justify their opinion so theirs at least some depth for discussion.

What an odd combination of words you posted. You spend the bulk of it talking about "opinion" or "argument", then you go on to state that an entire population of approximately 40 million xbox users are just a mass of people with low standards who like games that are "crap." Is this an "opinion?" Is it your opinion that 40 odd million people are ALL people with low standards (even those users who are multi-system owners?) The discussion is about one game, for which it is easy to put forth an opinion as to quality. You, however, have made a blanket statement about an entire population. It seems silly.

I have been playing Lord of the Rings Online since Beta and enjoy it very much, so it isn't that MMORPG's aren't "my thing" - WoW isn't "my thing".

I came home from work, installed Cata and I'm playing without any lag as we speak.

Lots of trolls on GameSpot's forums, particularly in WoW-related threads. I think people just get mad that their preferred game doesn't do so well. Another reason i think is that they would love to be good at PvP, but never could, so they quit. Another would be the same only with PvE. No good guild would take them either because their attitude to the game (gear hording etc) and/or other players didn't get them a spot. I also think some are just annoyed that it's not Warcraft 4 (this makes me laugh though.)

I've asked a good amount of people on these forums who seem to comment on the game's raiding difficulty, or PvP difficulty, their character's info and I've not once seen a single person with anything even remotely good achievement and statistics wise.

Fact is, the game has won loads of awards, had countless high reviews and ratings and has grown into a video game phenomenon and has had continued player-base growth even after 6 years. People like to pick apart really good games, but when you stack it against other games of the same genre it's so far ahead in overall quality.

If you've formed your own opinion on the game, you shouldn't have to ask people who like the game why it's a good game. If you know a fair amount about what makes a game good and fun to play, you should be able to form your own honest opinion as to why it is a good game. Much like Greg Kasavin did in his review.

You didn't offend me at all, I just thought it was odd. I wish you wouldn't say "logic" plays a role here, because it doesn't. Your ability to say that Bieber fans are "a mass of people with low standards, regarding music" does NOT logically equate to you saying that all xbox fans have low standards. If you want to use logic, you would say that calling a Bieber fan uninformed is like calling a fan of (insert single game developer) uninformed. What you have done is say that if you like a delivery platform (xbox), then you are uninformed with low standards. What you neglect is all of the people who, say, are PC/PS3/360 owners. So say someone is a fan of PC, but also a fan of 360, why does that make them part of the unwashed mass?

OF COURSE it's your opinion. The fact that you "believe" it to be correct does nothing to lift it out of the realm of opinion. Everyone believes their opinions. That does not make it fact. I'm a PC guy first, so I have no dog in the fight, I just think it's silly to say that fans of a machine are somehow less intelligent or discriminating in gaming choices than you are. I also enjoy my 360. I've followed gaming for over 25 years, so I'm certainly not uninformed when it comes to my gaming choices.

Every system has weaknesses, and every system has developers that make shoddy games that many people lap up. I don't think it makes sense to say that 360 owners are any worse than PS3 owners, however. It is my OPINION that every system has good points and bad points, but that at the time I made the purchase, I felt that the 360 was a better choice for me. Does that put me in the unwashed masses of 360 owners in your eyes?
