Blizzard's mystery splash

I'd rather see a Starcraft MMO over a Diablo 3. There is plenty of hack and slash, fantasy, action games. There are virtually no good multiplayer, science fiction games that occur outside of spaceships.WDT-BlackKat

Pains me to say it but i do agree with you. Too many MMO's are focused on the fantasy genre and it would be good to see a Sci-Fi MMO that has a strong community and strong developer behind it. As much as i hate WoW there is no denying Blizzard did something great to make it such a success.

That being said i'd still like to hear an announcement of a new game or gaming franchise from Blizzard.

I love Sacred and it would have been close but the bugs made it really bad, but still best I played. Dungeon Siege 2 and Titan Quest were decent not good, Divine Divinity very sad copy of Diablo and Nox and DS1 I didn't like at all + blasphemy :), putting the worst possible game in that post, Hellgate. I know it's made by the same guys but that game is mediocre at best, they must have been senile when they made it, or all their talent was dried by Diablo.

Sacred comes close to being a competitor, but doesn't quite get there and all the other games are meh, especially Hellgate. If you think those games deserve to be compared with Diablo so be it, but for me they aren't.

Probably gonna be something simple like announcement of SC2 launch or SC2 beta. Especially looking at the new splash with those protoss eyes in space...dherki

They are said to be rune stones.. supposidly from Diablo although some people say they could be from the Warcraft series too.

Sorry for the PS thing :P but this looks very close to that, so still Diablo 3 is possible. Again they wouldn't make such a fuss for an already announced game and it is official, they will release a new game, but it might be Diablo, Blackthorne or another game, but all the recent actions point towards Diablo 3.

the problem witht he Diablo overlay on the eyes, is that a picture of a Protoss also fits perfectly (and some say better) over the splash.

that and there are runes from all 3 franchises. this almost seems like it's a new Battlenet or something like that.

No it is not a Protoss. I tried every protoss face I found and it doesn't resemble it more than 30%. If you like I can enhance it so that you can see that it is 99% identical to Diablo, so there isn't anything better than perfect, there is no doubt about it, at least for me. The eyes are identical. The only way it could be a protoss is if they release a new protoss face close up image.

If you like I can send you the psd file that I made and you can try for yourself, if you have photoshop, corel draw or anything that can open it.

They are building the hype so it wouldn't just be to an official release date of Wrath of the Lich King, it has to be Diablo 3!wambabonga

To everyone in this forum it wouldn't be a big deal if it were a release date for Lich King, but WoW with it's 10 million subs is their holy grail and would be a huge if they finally announced a release date for them.

oh, i was going by the 80 bajillion other forum posts around the interweb that people did in fact fit a protoss over the eyes and got it too fit.

i think one other poster might have hit on the head, it could be multiple announcements cocnerning all 3 major franchises. we are awaiting WotLK beta, SC2 release date, and D3 announcements afterall.

Stargate SG1 = amazing, atlantis = fail

Diablo3 on the other hand = instafap ... i better not hear the good news in a public place because im gonna just lose it ....

damn, with all the new theories coming about, it is looking like a hype for the WOTLK. There is that matter of the hel rune being in there, and the diablo III forum, and that insider stuff. This just tells us that Blizzard is either good at marketing, cruel, or just stupid. My experience with their games tell me that it isn't the latter.
