So I tried playing a BluRay dvd on my laptop, and it didn't work. I keep getting "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disc was created in a manner that the Player does not support."

Side note: The last time I used a BluRay on my computer was about a year or so ago.

Yes.

The more I think about it, It's possible I might've deleted some drivers on accident. :?

To reinstall, all I have to do is pop in the Drivers and Utilities disk, right?

Sorry, I'm not the most tech savvy person. :P

Windows Media Player, I believe. Not 100% sure though. It's been a year or so.

I'm pretty sure WMP doesn't support Blu Ray. You'll need to install something like Power DVD, which sucks because it's a piece of sh*t.

Try installing the Media Play Codec pack and then play the BluRay disc in WMP.

I figured it out, The Animator420. I guess WMP doesn't support BlurRay, so that was the problem.

Thanks though :)

When i bought my BD drive it came with powerdvd 7, but it was so crappy that i was forced to spend like $70 on powerdvd 10. I will say that at least i have not had problems playing my BD's anymore, but kinda crazy that i dont think there are any decent free players for them yet. I wouldn't think that pirating BD's would be such a big problems since the cost of the burners and media and the time it would take are so much more than DVD's, that they would need the extra security.

If you install the Media Player Codec pack, it will enable WMP to play BluRays. No need for another application(like Power DVD) just for BluRays.

I got a 30 day trial for Powerdvd 10. So that's good enough for now. :)

PowerDVD 10 still sucks though. It crashed so many times for me, which is totally unacceptable for a video player, particularly one that is purchased. Oh how I wish Media Player Classic: Home Cinema supported Blu Ray.

I don't think I've actually had a problem with 10 yet except that when you close it, it takes the computer several seconds to respond to any actions and sometimes if i pause it for too long it will go back to the powerdvd screen.

You should just need the correct codec in order to play it through Windows Media Player. Here ya go...
