I just installed the main game. If I'm planning to get the expansions, should I install them right away, or are they all for end-game purposes anyways?

the only reason to buy Mad Moxxi is for the Bank (very useful if you're a loot whore); Dr Ned and General Knoxx are for end-game purposes.
Secret Armory of General Knoxx
Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
Probably a sequel, though that's not official. I'm just assuming. They pumped out those 3 dlcs right away then nothing. Anyone know whats in the works now for Borderlands?

If you want to play co-op I think it would be a good idea to wait it out a bit because not everyone has the DLC and unless I am mistaken you can't play games hosted by those who have expansions that you don't have; so if you host a game with all 3 DLC and you are still in your first playthrough and at, like, lvl 20...then you'll probably not meet a lot of people your level who have all 3 DLC installed.
My advice would be to do your first playthrough without the DLCs, then install the DLC for your second playthrough.

I'm actually pretty certain I recall the CEO of Gearbox stating he was so impressed with the sales of the game that there's no doubt a sequel going to be made.
Which is good for some of us. My friend and I had a blast playing it on PC. I don't care how repetitive it was. It was incredibly funny, and we just had so much fun in the bigger battles, and boss fights.
