Borderlands Online free?

Hey guys, I've just bought Borderlands and it's shipping here atm. I read that if we want to play it online, we need to play it through Gamespy. Is it the only way to play Borderlands Online? Via Gamespy? I think we have to pay for Gamespy... Is there any way to play it online forfree?

Gamespy is free they just host the servers. You will login with your Gamespy account basically to play.

Register and play...It's not like WOW where u have to pay each month....
