Looking for a multiplayer game I can LAN with my brother. Pretty sure I've already played everything interesting though a hundred times over. Can be any genre, and it doesn't have to be completely local-network based. Can anyone suggest me some games?

Already tried it. The low FoV gave me a headache and it seemed to lag no matter what my ping was. I think I remember the controls being bothersome as well.

For Bordelands, found it on another forum and I did use this little modification when I did play Borderlands so I know it works.

To adjust FOV (Field of View):
-----------------------------
Within WillowInput.ini:
Below the chunk of bindings on the first section/paragraph, add the following:

Bindings=(Name="F10",Command="FOV 90",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
Bindings=(Name="F11",Command="FOV 110",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

You can change the keys (F10 and F11) to whatever you'd like, as well as the FOV values.

Thanks but that's only one of many problems that me and my brother had with the game that prevented us from enjoying it. Baldur's Gate II is very tempting. Are there any good ways to introduce him to old-school RPGs without scaring him? And BTW, I already beat Splinter-Cell Conviction. I didn't like it, nor the coop. Halo Combat Evolved has terrible netcode, even over LAN. :P

Half-Life 2 Deathmatch (a bit shallow, but for $5 you can't really go wrong, this game is great fun)

Counter-Strike Source (...need I say more?)

Tremulous (free sort-of FPS)

Urban Terror (free FPS)

Day of Defeat Source ($10 WWII Valve shooter)

TF2 ($20 Valve shooter)

I always bring up Liero in threads like these - simple fun, with quite a bit of variety in maps and weapon packs. There are many versions of it: Liero v1.33, Lerio Xtreme, Gusanos and more. Those three are probably the best versions.

Terrible netcode in Halo CE?? Umm who cares your on a LAN a 100mbit connection is more than enough i played it on a 512kbit connection back in the day. If your worried about netcode and had issues with Borderlands "lagging" and ping issues spend your time resolving your network problems, then you can actually enjoy games.

Sorry, the problems are with the games, not my network.

Red Faction Guerrilla?

The multiplayer is awesome, but it's also dead, althought that shouldn't bother you if you play lan.

You can also try Garry's Mod.

What about just Red Faction? I thought the SP was terrible, but the multiplayer is pretty decent I believe.

Sacred 2, if you like hack and slash RPG type games. The game world is HUGE and there is ALOT to do. You can spend hours and hours and only uncover 5% of the map
