Congrats! I graduated from consoles many years ago :P
Keep in mind PC gaming isn't always cheap either (hardware reasons, games are typically a little cheaper), but it definitely gives you the most satisfaction, along with the opportunity to build your own machine.
By the way, the 360 controller works very well on the PC and is supported quite nicely, especially for newer titles. Remember kb+m is vastly superior in some types of games though such as first person shooters :) Give it a try, and good luck!
Those consoles can boast about their crap all they want, PC games and hardware have gotten cheaper now thanks to the 360 and PS3.
Less fanboyism in the PC community too, maybe not true, but every "pc gamer" I know tends to not give a crap about what games are coming out on what, they just "prefer" a PC version, and there's so many PC version's of games that buying a 360 and PS3 seem like a waste of money, cuz a good PC will last you WAY longer than a console. Before I had to upgrade, I think I had my PC playing high end games (considered that at the time) for about 8 years until mr. next gen or w/e came along, I bought a GTS and now I'm stepping up to a GT soon, and that's pretty much all I'm gonna need for a while, only time will tell now though.
It would be wise to implement this to bring more gamers to the PC market.nate1222No, it wouldn't. This is why I don't want "console gamers" turning into PC gamers. Because they will want a PC game to be just like a console game. It would be like being a car driver and switching to a motorcycle, then complaining that you have to "balance" and complaining you can only have one passenger. PC games are too technical to warrant a gamepad. If you can use a gamepad in a PC game it is nothing but a glorified console game. I play PC games because they are complex and a good number of them require the use of a certain gray organ. This is not the case with console games. The 'arcadie' style is fine. But I prefer gameplay depth that requires more involvement than some cheap analog stick, when there are mice that can do 4000dpi and 1000hz polling/1ms response, why would I want to degrade my gameplay experience?

yeah, i want game designed for specifically kb + m (those games which are suited for kb+m like fps, rpg, rts, mmo,tbs etc)
I'm a well rounded gamer (PC and Consoles). I like consoles because they guarantee reasonable graphics and framerates, whereas my PC is fairly weak compared to most other gamers (I have Aurora M9700 (._.) ). It depends on how one looks at it. You can buy a PC and have to constantly upgrade their rigs, or, get a console and not have to worry about upgrades (Yeah, I can't upgrade my M9700).elitedarkfalcon
I hate this "constant upgrading" myth. As long as you buy decent parts, your games will most likely be compatible until the "next next gen"
maybe I'm one of the "success" stories though :| Cuz I didn't have to upgrade my PC until Bioshock came out. That's some serious longevity there. About 8 years with the "new upgrade" bieng a 50 dollar gig stick of ram. When Bioshock came out, I had to get a new GFX card, so I got the GTS, which I'm "stepping up" to a GT, which also looks smaller, so now that massive beast of a card won't be taking up that extra PCI slot in my mobo.

I think people want to shell out 50$ for gfx card and play crysis at max settings... just ain't going to happen. Then there's the fact that there's nearly limitless supply of PC games. Even if you have a 100MHz pentium and still find a good game if you know where to look. Sure, the gfx won't be state of the art, but games back then didn't really on fancy gfx tricks. Looking at the recommended specs at the game store about half the games only required a 500 ot 800MHz CPU and that's a computer that would have been released in the 90s!
I am a console gamer whom recently had migrated to the PC gaming scene. This is due to the prices and backward compatibility issues of the current cosoles (PS3/XBox360). I can play Windows 95/98/2000/XP titles on my Vista OS just fine. But future itterations of the PS3 won't play PS1/PS2 titles. The XBox 360 wants gamers to get their propietary hard drive AND XBox LIVE in order to play their old (and admittedly pretty good) XBox titles. NOTE: the 20 GB hard drive costs $100 and probably won't work with their next-gen system 5 years from now. An external 120 GB hard drive for your PC costs the same and will work just fine with an upgraded PC later down the line. Perhaps if PC game developers included GAMEPAD FUNCTIONALITY to more of their titles they could win over more former "console only" gamers. There are USB PC gamepads on the market that have a dual analog,D-pad,4-trigger,4 face button lay out. This works well because most gamers are fimiliar with it. Most of these USB PC gamepads are cheap ($20 on average). It would be wise to implement this to bring more gamers to the PC market. The time is nigh given the disenchantment over current console woes.nate1222Well welcome to the PC community bud and great to have you aboard. Gameon...
