anyone else getting it?
looks fun, but I have bad feelings.
I think they should of went with a more futuristic battlefield type game, over than a Mirrors Egde type of gameplay

Idunno, not out yet :P
I think it will be decent. For a while I thought it was an MMOFPS but I guess its just an online FPS a la Battlefield, Counterstrike, etc.
I like all the customization and stuff, though, if not the art direction.
Picked it up..Thing is its single player to what i like abou it..You done need to be online to play..
I think it looks worth it, I have it pre-oredered. Check out the "Get SMART Series", it gives a basic outline of some of the game features. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI0r9Pw1CB4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPPZqwqJWaM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odefa3EgTpM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLbh5rbUUH8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIIK3uag8KA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdKkptGd8PsCroag821
its not a GET SMART series without a shoe phone.. im calling these video's poser's and demand that they release the real one's :P

To be honest, I don't know... but I'm madly in love with the idea that I could love this game... I'm hoping the multiplayer will enthrall me for months. It has a pretty good premise and it could work out well for itself. Pre-order Summer sale on Direct2Drive including Brink 25% off! Great deal if you ask me... The Witcher 2 is there as well. Go people go!
To be honest, I don't know... but I'm madly in love with the idea that I could love this game...Elann2008Me too, but, if it runs like homefront  thats why i hold back and wait for the game to come out and being played for atleast a week. [QUOTE="DanielDust"] Do you own games at all? you can't play Steam games before the official release, not even if you're the Messiah. Propably physical copy from his store or console version.

It's a Steamworks game, being retail doesn't matter and this is the "PC forum" consoles don't matter.
i am thinking about it too. Ill just wait to se how it does on the pc gamers and check it later. i fear it will be one of those games that no ones plays after a while.dakan45
I reckon this is how a lot of people are feeling I just hope everyone doesn't wait to see how it turns out as then it won't be off to good start before its even released.
I've been catching up on this game and I'm still not sure, not completely sold yet. Whilst I liked both previous Splash Damage games greatly and think of this is as another evolution of those games my hype for it hasn't increased as I hoped compared to when it was first shown. I still haven't decided and may still pre-order it in the next few days.
Also I think its coming at out at an interesting time. I'm in no rush as I'm already gearing up for The Witcher 2 which releases only a few days later and console players will also be gearing up for LA:Noire.
I like that its different and hope it turns out good but it may need a free weekend on Steam down the line if it doesn't catch on.
A new interview here with a lot of info worth reading: Brink Interview
[QUOTE="flipin_jackass"]Looks interesting, but I'm not really sold on it yet. I'll wait for some reviews and maybe a price drop.Croag821The games $37 at D2D with a code, your not going to see a better price drop in a long time. Perhaps. Is the deal up for at least 1 more week? (Summer sale, so I'm assuming, the throughout the summer?) I'd like some feedback first - both professional and user review - before I purchase anything.

Well, it's a pre-order deal. So in a few days Brink will no longer be a pre-order game. It releases on the 10th. I am going to decide tonight whether I want to buy it or not. Has there been any new dev diary or something in-depth about the game? It seems like they're releasing next to none info... and this is the problem and the main reason why I'm on the fence.

Thanks Agpickle. Will check them out now.
So I watched the one titled "General Gameplay." So basicially, everyone will have like a Last Stand option for them before they die. Either lie on the ground until a teammate helps you or the opponent has to finish you off. Hmmm... The only thing is you cannot shoot at anyone once you're down but you have a chance at being revived.

When you are knocked down psychically by someone you can shootback from the ground.

Oh wow, that's pretty darn cool. That's good to know. Should make for some pretty intense and fun gunfights. Thanks :DWatch all of the "Get SMART" videos. They are basically tutorials, they have all of the info you could need.[QUOTE="agpickle"]

Yeah when you get downed (health hits 0) you can't shoot and have to wait for a medic or respawn (although their is a skill that lets you shoot while downed, and another that lets you revive yourself). But if you just get knocked down (by a slide tackle or molitove cocktail explosion) you can shoot and get up at anytime.
Also make sure to check out the "Battlefield" one, it explains some really cool mechanics having to do with how the implemented mines.

Watching them helped me decide if the game was worth picking up or not.Wasnt really excited for this game, but the coop and custimization looks cool so had to preorder it :P
Not sure if itll be good, meh or bad, time will tell.
Didnt think I needed another shooter but if its coop il give it a go and hey, itll keep my mind off waiting for The Witcher2 :P
I think I preordered it sometime last year.. started the pre-load on Steam just now.
The game looks quite fun. I'm a sucker for class-based team shooters, and this appears to have all the right elements. I am bothered by the sheer amount of customization yet obvious lack of playable females, but I'll get over it.
Lovin the amount of mix-ups you can do between class, body type and equipment loadout. I think I might try my hand at a lightweight pistol-wielding engineer, or a heavy..medic maybe? I dunno.
I'm still on the fence. I will wait for reviews. I guess it will be one of those games that people stop playing after a month or so but who knows, could be pretty fun with friends like borderlands was for a while. If I end up getting it, I will be buying this retail over digital because
1.) Need my internet cap for Witcher 2
2.) I HAVE TEH VOUCHERS!
so really not going to cost me anything lol. I can't remember the last game I bought retail.

Btw dude, what game is that in your sig? Is it ARMA 2?
About a minute away from pre-ordering the game. The biggest factor that went into my decision was how a lot of my guild mates were going to play. Still a bit concerned about a few things though. I love huge pubs and that was something I loved about Splash Damage's other game, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Huge 16 vs 16, 32 vs 32 games were fun as hell. Brink's maximum 8vs8 makes me wince, but I hope it's one of those very moddable games that lets you increase the max player cap like Valve games (ex: CS and TF2).
the COD games have been 8v8 and they feel too hectic at times IMO.... it all depends on the map size.About a minute away from pre-ordering the game.
