Broken steel won't start

I'm unsure as to what your problem is, as your thread title and content there-in seem to contradict each other.

So does the game load or not?

What happens exactly when you double click your Fallout 3 shortcut?

If the game does launch, does it say "Loading Content" when it comes up? If you click "downloads" does it list Broken Steel as being present?

Is it just your "Save Game" that seems messed up?

If it's your saved game, then I've also experienced problems.... however I keep multiple saves, so as to avoid these sort of problems.... the only thing I can tell you is if your Save Game is messed up.... the only thing to do is, try re-installing Fallout 3 completely, if that doesnt work, you have 2 options.... don't play it til the next patch.... or..... start over.

Oh wait a min.... the game works?

You just keep dying? Umm..... try not to get shot or hit? That works for me when I am avoiding death.

I was encountering the same problem with the "Broken Steel" quest not staring up after continually dying in that room where you are to enter the code. I found out that if you enter the code correctly before you pass out, that it would begin. So, as a tip folks, go to the room and enter the correct code as fast as you can. You'll still pass out, you'll see the Jefferson statue as your vision starts to fade to white, the ending story with the narration, then you'll see "two weeks later" materialize on the screen immediately afterwards. Broken Steel alters the ending of the original Fallout 3 to allow continued play after the end of the main quest line. This means that when it is time to go into the reactor at the end of Take it Back!, you can still go in yourself or you can send one of three side characters. However, even if you go yourself, you do not die. Instead, you survive the ordeal and wake up two weeks later at the Citadel. If you allow the Purifier to explode, the game will still end. Elder Lyons will inform you that you and Sarah Lyons were knocked unconscious by an unknown energy spike. Sarah will still be in a coma.

I have broken steel also but I'm not as far as you tho... So I'm not sure if it's that what's the problem..

edit: damn didn't read your very last post there.. are you sure you have the files in ..Fallout 3Data ? or that they aren't corrupted?

I got the same problem. After the end cut scene, right back to the main menu. Funny thing is I know the mod is installed because my level cap raised to 30 and some of the enclave are runnig around in hellfire armor. I tried disabling the script extender and invalidator, but to no avail.

I have the same problem and i really wanna play it on my pc since i have it on xbox so if anyone has an idea post it
