Just wanted to ask for anyone who has played this game yet... are the controls the same as AC2, as in they have icons instead of Keys...?

I wonder why they didn't call it AC3 if it's a direct sequel? Maybe cause it's the same character..... Oh well, damn it, I'm gonna have to finish AC2 then..... I HATE those icons...FelipeInside
I guess it's like how GTA : Vice City or San Andreas aren't considered GTA 4 and 5. Since Brotherhood is still part of Assassin's Creed 2 and they use the content from AC2 and bring it forward. I'm hoping Assassin's Creed 3 will look more different and play different. We certainly saw that improvement from the jump between AC1 to AC2.
I played the multi-player with M&KB (360 controller layout is screwed up, dunno why) and so far I've got no complaints. The mouse movement has improved from AC2 from my experience.

I'm currently playing with my Cyborg 360 pad and didn't had any issues with layout somehow, actually it's seem a little more smoth than AC2 controls were or maybe i'm just not used to it anymore after like a year without playing any AC game.

Is yours wired controller? The wireless controllers might have an issue again with Assassin's Creed.
