Im looking into buying a gaming pc.i dont want to spend a lot of money($1000 maximum), but i dont need good graphics, i just want to run most games smoothly on medium to low settings. firstly im not sure whether i should build my own or not. ive never built a pc before but ive got a few friends who could help me out with it. basically could you suggest any parts i should consider buying . ive done some research into building a pc but the idea still seems daunting and any help would be greatly appreciated

If you don't want to build: http://www.jr.com/asus/pe/ASU_CG527003_hy_RB/ http://www.jr.com/asus/pe/ASU_CG5270_hy_RB/ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131184 Then you still have 200$ left for a decent monitor. Of course, you'd be able to max most games... I don't know if that's what you wanted...

I don't think you need a powerful computer to run today's game at medium setting. My 8800GTX can still run most games, except Crysis, at 1980 x 1200 resolution, on high setting. I have 4 gig of rams and a Phenom X4 9850 black edition. I built this computer like two years or so ago.
