I would definitely recommend and intel cpu, you can get an i5 that preforms great for a good price. For a gpu i would recommend the gtx 560 ti, it can play battlefield 3 on high/ultra. Cyberpower is a good website to get deals. There are some coupons you can find online for their site that give discounts. Hope this helped.

Let is play a little game. Mix and match to get to whichever price point you are happy with. Remember, if you get an AMD CPU you need an AMD motherboard, and same with Intel. Don't mix CPU/motherboard brands.

CPU: Intel i5-2500K $220 OR Cheaper AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition $125

CPU COOL: Antec Kuhler H20 620 $60 OR Cheaper CM Hyper 212+ $25 (I would go with the 212, but you may want better overclocking)

Motherboard: Intel MSI GD65 $150 OR Cheaper AMD ASRock M3A770DE $60

GPU: SAPPHIRE Radeon 6970 $350 OR Cheaper XFX Radeon 6950 2GB $280 OR Cheaper MSI Twin Frozr GTX 560 TI $240

PSU: Antec HCG 750 $100 OR Cheaper Antec Earthwatts Green 650W $65

Case: CM HAF 922 $90 OR Cheaper Rosewill CHALLENGER $50

HDD(earthquakes in Asia): WD Caviar Blue 500GB $120 OR Cheaper Seagate Barracuda 250GB $90

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1600 $25 (double for 8GB)

OD: ASUS Dvd Burner $20

OS: WINDOWS 7! $100

Most expensive combo: $1235

Cheapest combo: $800

Mix and match with more in different areas according to your needs.

Also seconded this one. The 6950 is the best bang for buck video card out there no questions and the core i5 2500k is the best bang for buck cpu out there no questions. Get those two components and you'll be set.
