I couldn't be bothered to convert your funny dollars into our dollars. But I'd ditch the Phenom, get a much better Intel Q6600. Then get an Asus P45 model motherboard for it.

No. Motherboards can only support Intel or AMD processors. You have to find an AMD compatible motherboard for AMD CPUs and Intel compatible motherboard for Intel CPUs.

I agree with BlackKat. Go with the Q6600 and the P45. You'd be much happier.

It does as unlike the dual cores, where Intel performs better but AMD can be cheaper, the Phenom is a severe underperformer for it's price point.

But if you do truly want the Phenom despite this, my reccommendation still somewhat stands, as Asus still makes the best motherboards be they Intel P45 or or one of these which I'm sure you can find in Canada somewhere (the link is newegg which does not ship to Canada but just so you can see the specs):

ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

I would choose INTEL but since its motherboards can only support up to 3Gb and less of memory RAM im thinking of going with the AMD since it can support more.

Where did you get that from? My OLD Intel motherboard can support up to 8gb. Pretty much any on the market today can support AT LEAST 6Gb

Huh? Don't even know where you came up with that mis-fact.

Here's a good motherboard, CPU, and GPU for your needs (new GPU because motherboard supports Crossfire and it's a better performer for not much more $):

Q6600

ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

4850

I'm sure you can find these in Canada too.

For example, this motherboard

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=019215&cid=MB.157

If you scroll down to the specs there should be something in the memory section saying:

When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.

On an average AMD motherboard, this message would most likely not be there. For example:

http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=016559&cid=MB.350

An AMD motherboard would have Window 64-bit operation system which would support 3GB of RAM or more.

You're comparing a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS. A 32-bit OS can only recognize up to 4Gb of memory(someof which will be on the VidCard), when a 64-bit OS can have much more. PLEASE actually read before you assume.

and AMD motherboard will only recognize 4Gb of memory too if you're running 32-bit, and an Intel motherboard will recognize more with a 64-bit.

That and the OS is in complete disregard to whatever hardware you're using. If you felt particularly suicidal you could even load OS/2 Warp! onto an Intel Core 2 Duo machine or an AMD 64 X2.
