HI Looks like a good build to me. The power supply even has the 8 pin

12V CPU cable. You might be able to save some with going with different

Ram but that ram should be OK. That will be a great system and should

really fly. Good luck with your build.

Ova

I hate to take away a sale from AMD when Intel is dominating them, but if you spend a little more on the motherboard / cpu you can get a cpu that destroys the 945

Intel is about to release it's 1156 CPU's the i7 860 model is going to retail for 220 and is faster than the i7 920 plus it doesn't require the expensive X58 motherboards.

The 1156 Cpu's use the new P55 motherboards which can be found quite a bit cheaper than the X58's, on top of this the P55's only use dual channel so the memory you already have picked will be fine.

I haven't thuroughly looked into the P55's yet to find the best ones, but as you can see here they are much cheaper than the X58's

Heres one for 120 Dollars

http://www.provantage.com/msi-p55-cd53~7MSTB04L.htm

Note: that mobo is on special order because it isn't out yet, the P55's and New Icore line go on sale next week.

So basically if you can wait a week and spend 50 dollars more on the CPU you will get a far, far faster system.

And if you overclock the i7 800's obliterate the 900's as they use less power hence run much cooler.

With the 920 even if you were using a water cooling system you would be lucky to crack 4.5 Ghz

With the 860 people have already taken it over 6 Ghz

I know the motherboard above isn't SLI/Crossfire, but I wasn't really looking hard because the P55's wont hit till next week, when they do though I'll bet there will be a Crossfire/SLI P55 for under 150 bucks

You will probably end up spending about 70 more in total, but it would be worth it.

On the flip side if you want to go even cheaper you could just wait a few weeks as AMD's prices are bound to fall with the new Icore line up's release next week.

arya24

Are you really calling me an intel fanboy?!

Get over yourself, if anyones the fanboy it's you I'd love to support AMD's cpu's, but they are simple substantially slower than Intel's offerings for quite a while now.

If you read my whole post you would even see at the end I said if he wanted to go even cheaper he could just wait for the new intel gear to pour in so AMD's prices would be even lower.
