I just built my first PC and am installing Windows XP on it at the moment, so I can apply my Windows 7 64-bit OS. I bought an online version and have an ISO available which I would like to burn to a disc and install the OS from there. The problem is its a 3GB file and I've never burnt an ISO onto anything but a CD--can you eveb burn them and install them via DVD?

You will need a special program to burn the iso onto the DVD unless you have access to Windows 7, whose process for burning iso's is standard whether its a CD or DVD. I personally use Alchohol 52% for my iso burning needs.

I have a program called imgBurn, not sure if it does DVD's. I'll look at Alcohol 52%--thanks, :)

I have a program called imgBurnCry0Tek

-Start ImgBurn.

-Click "Write image file to disc"

-Click the folder icon with the magnifying glass at the top ("browse for a file...") and browse to/select your ISO.

-Insert blank DVD.

-Click the huge "Write" button at the bottom-left.

Dammit, Velocitas8 beat me to it! :P :P ImgBurn is one of the best iso burners I've ever come across. Everyone should have it installed. :)

Ironically, Windows 7 has its own ISO burning utility.

Just using it today I've found it to be very simplistic, just what I needed after assembling my PC. Mind boggled...
