I just noticed the amazing offer on Newegg and I am very tempted to pick up the card to replace my 290. The R9 390x probably will perform at the level of a 1070 or at least close to it so it is worth it for the price. Should I pull the trigger?

On a second thought, the 1070 is supposed to beat Titan X. So, if I wait until 1070 comes out, I'd get a card that is 50% better than 390X for the same price but probably no free TW:WH deal. What a dilemma...

wait for a 1070, or wait for the new Polaris from amd. you will enjoy Warhammer but the 390x will start to show its age and inefficiency over time long after you have finished Warhammer that will cause frustration in the long term.

unless you can figure out how to buy the card get the game and sell the card to save for the new gpu's.

I'm ok with my 970, but if I was in the market for a graphics card at this time, I'd definitely consider this for the game.

It's probably tempting to get an upgrade plus a game you want, but I would wait just a month or two to see what Polaris does (AMD's next generation of graphics card). If they are awesome or if Nvidia has something compelling you won't be stuck with your 390x, if they aren't that interesting the new cards will force a price drop of the 390x anyway so you can use the savings on the game and feel secure.

I have a 290 as well. I'm tempted to upgrade now but I'll probably wait for 1080.

Pretty poor time to buy a 390x with the 480x right around the corner.
