Hi Community

If you had the money to buy EA and become the solo owner of the company. What would you change about the way EA do business today?

Would you listen to the gamers and the community?

Would you just focus on earn bucket loads of money for your shareholder and not really listing to the Gamers and the coomunity?

Or change all that and become a game company with a good reputation again instead or been the worst company in the US?

Give us your ideas :)

If I had the money to buy EA (or any company for that matter), I'd just keep the money

Mostly just give developers more creative freedom. Less sequels, less DLC.

If you were going to spend a couple of billion dollars why not at least use it for something where it'd do some good.

Force them to keep cranking out sequels to franchises that sell well.

Why give them creative freedom? Every idiot on the internet spends all their free time bitching about rehashing and crying for innovation, then tens of millions of dollars are spent on some "innovative" project and those same idiots bitch about all the features it lacks from the likes of Call of Duty and Halo.  So simple solution.  Keep spending money on the rehashed sequels that the bitchy whiny idiots continue to buy and just ignore them.

Super simple stuff bro.

If I had enough money to buy EA, I'd rather start my own video game publishing company and do my best put them out of business.

See that's one of those things that's easier said than done imo. I mean in the real world you have a giant company with a ton of people that have to be paid and a bunch of stock holders to answer to. All they want to hear is how you're gonna be making even more money the same time next year. I don't like the way the operate same as everyone else but it is indeed a reliable way to guarantee that they make more money. I would like to believe that you attract more bees with honey but milking sequels, abusing DLC, micotranscations, subscriptions and what ever else they can come up with are just too profitable  + they help to generate a steady stream of money instead of having the pockets of profits focused around release dates for their games. That's also why so many companies are trying to get into F2p. Its basically a dream come true. You make a game for the cheap and run it as a service so that its bringing in money until its community dies. Of course you slowly but surely make new content but that's nothing really. No having to crank out sequels every year or two that cost a fortune to make. It's all about getting more for less or the classic saying "work smarter not harder".

My overall point being as a gamer it's def easy to hate what they do but from a business stand point its brilliant really. So if I were running EA what would I do? Id look at my phat paycheck; count the zeros and keep it running exactly the same.

Id change a few things here and there but not much. Why? Because I want to make money.

Lets be honest, when it comes to big giant companies the money and sales isnt in innovations and treating the customer like your pal. The money comes from creating familliar products that people buy. A lot of gamers bitch and whine about franchises and wanting new new and exciting innovative games, but those games never sell well. What sells well is the same old thing, or games that are close enough to the same old thing that they feel comfortable for gamers.

If EA was such a big bad ugly and brutally damaging company that all gamers pretend they are then they wouldnt be raking in millions a year. Even when their sales are down they still make more money than some small countries do.

EA isnt as bad as gamers make them out to be. Gamers are just loud and obnoxious and never shut, so it seems like everyone in the world hates them when in reality its only a couple thousand people who hate them.

Yeah I know they got voted worst company but there are a hell of a lot worse companies out there. Gamers just tend to run their mouths online and vote against what they dont like it, while most of the truly evil companies are ones most people have never heard of.

I would require all games that are published to be 100% complete at launch. All maps and extra content included. DLC's would be very rare, and if you did release a DLC they would have to be free of charge. No more charging for DLC's.

I'd buy EA. Collapse the entire company. Start up as a new publisher, and hire everyone single employee back except the terrible CEO and VPs and board members. Revolution of good games coming your way.

Well, let's be honest, even though we hate DLC almost everyone buy them so I'll probably force the developers to continue milking the franchise to death until people stop buying games like what happened to Guitar Hero.

Rampagerabbit

as a listed company, your only job is to earn money for shareholders. no matter what it takes.

if you were the CEO of EA, you would get fired if you wouldn't do that.

e: oh, but if you would own EA, you would be the only shareholder, so you could do what ever you want.
