i was wondering,. sense the evga 780i is already out, but nearly impossible to find. Should i go ahead and just buy the 680i, or wait a few weeks for the 780i to become availible. would there be enough improvements to the 780i to really be concerned about it? sorry for all the questions, but its my first intel build so it feels like my very fist build. I dont know very much about intel.
I don't know much about the 780i but I can say that the 680i is a great board and if you wait a bit longer for the 780i a new board will come out and then you will be faced with the same dilhemma. Its the way of the computer industry.
i just went to the bank and deposited all the money for my system, ordering the parts tomorrow, i think ill just get the 680i and then use the upgrade program evga has later on. I need a computer asap. Thanks for all the input, really helped me decide. just found the 780i evga board on newegg, 300 bucks... compared to the 259.99 msrp
Got the 680i for 200.00 shipped, and I trade up with Evga for 80 more, Which is cheaper than you can by it for now, thank New Egg for the huge markups.
