I want to buy either Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2. I don't really know if I would like this kind of game. But since everybody thinks it's the greatest game ever I figured I would try it. But would I be lost if I just go straight to the second one? Also I don't really care about the story of video games. I just like the game play. So would these games be worth it for the game play? thanks

While the second one has improved the combat gameplay a bit if you arent in it for the story mass effect one or two wont be worth it just for the gameplay.

Mass Effect 2 is prooving to me that it is better than Mass Effect. Though I love both games, 2 has much improved combat. Though if you can only get one go with the original. You really need to be up on the story before playing two.

Why don't you like stories? That's what makes a really great game. You're missing out on a lot of awesome games.(Exceptions of course.)

Do you like dialogues? If no then forget about it. The game is not for you. If you want stats based combat buy DAO if you want more of action rpg buy borderlands and if you want exploration buy fallout 3. Mass effect is mostly story with alot and i mean alot of blah, blah!

I was also wondering about Fallout. How is that game? And is the Game of the Year edition worth the money?

Worth it? You should pay them extra for all those things they give you, it has all the dlcs. Anyway fallout 3 worths it. It has a huge worldmap with better combat than mass effect and diffirent weapons because in mass effect the weapons are copy and paste. The game has more unfolding and quests plus killing enemies for fun and leveling up. I prefer that than mass effect which is mainly filled with dialogues and has less and dissapointing combat. Also if you dont like the guns or armors in fallout 3 you can add mods. You will find almost every gun ever made via mods!

Get Mass Effect 1 first. It's cheap now, and that way if you like it, then finish it and get the 2nd. If you don't like it then you might not like #2 and save some money. Also Fallout 3 is a must have, def go with the Game of the Year, it saves you money with all DLC included.

Get both for sure...but I wanna say dive into part two since it's the newest one out, I'm gonna say go with ME1 first..it'll make you more clear on things and you'll enjoy ME2 and what it offers.

Don't rush to the 2nd game, buy the 1st one it's great - I'm currently playing it and dying to finish to move to the 2nd game.

You need to play the original just to appreciate all the improvements that been done

Get Mass Effect, because otherwise you won't be able to follow the story as well (and Mass Effect has a really good story). The second game (or what I've played at least) is really fun as well though.
