A few months ago(about 6) I had a monitor picked out that was perfect for my planned setup. But I recently checked on Newegg that it was no longer available. So now, I come to this forum section asking for suggestions from someone experienced with a monitor that can handle having your PC and an Xbox360 both setup to it through DVI, HDMI, and/or VGA ports, anything of that kind of sort.

Price is definately important, but not really restricted. I just don't plan on paying over $500 on a 19"-22" monitor.

 who buys a CRT monitor now-a-days.

For $500 you can get a sick 20" LCD or for $500 you can get a entry level 24". By entry level, I just mean the type of screen they use.

True to each his own, but people are more about space saving nowadays and the performance, colors and refresh rate are so close, that people go with LCD. LCDs are hitting 120Hz refresh rates now.

A 20 inch widescreen monitors are great for gaming. They run around $170-200, except for samsung, they go for $270.

Just go on newegg.com and look at the size monitor you want and look at the best rated. There are alot of good customer reviews on that website that will help influence your decision. That is how I got my monitor.

Make sure you look at the response time for the monitor. If it's more than 5ms, it's crap.

****loads of ignorance in this thread, wonder if Socrates is Thinker_145....

People like different things, some people don't mind TN panels, some people prefer cheap CRT's over cheap LCD's,can't we just get along? :?

Anyways, normally if you don't mind TN panels,i would recommend a Samsung 206BW (I have one and i love it) but you want HDMI,so a HDTV might suit your needs better, lemme look for one.

Hey thinker, whats up? the GS staff will catch you eventually, their not dumbarses. They used to be one of us once and used to get annoyed by people that do this kind of stuff. Ifyoure not Thinker, Im sorry, but this is too much deja vu all over again

I'm getting a GDM-FW900 for 150USD.

Best monitor for games there is. And at a steal of a price.

But if you're set on getting an LCD, I heard this is a great monitor and has a TFT panel yet still has a response time of 2ms.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005097

I'd get this monitor were I not getting the FW900.
