I would spend the time from now until it is launched learning as much as I can about building computers myself.

They both have pretty weak video cards, to be honest. I wouldn't recommend either of them. Hold on a second. I'll be back.
I want Windows 7 to come with it. Right now I have Windows XP running on an old Acer laptop. I want the whole package deal in my new desktop. Peripheals and monitor included would be nice but not required. I just want a good working desktop for less than 600 dollars.Do you need an operating system? What operating system do you have, now?

I went to Newegg.com. Here's another good one I found.

*puke* Stay away from that at all costs if you plan on gaming. The GPU is crap for most games

That's funny considering it's right next to the computer you recommended on the same site. So what's it gonna be? Speaking of which here's one from Buy.com. http://www.buy.com/prod/cyberpower-gua103se-mid-tower-desktop-pc-amd-athlon-ii-x4-640-3-0ghz/q/loc/111/217656387.html[QUOTE="gmaster456"][QUOTE="DarkRemus"]I went to Newegg.com. Recheck that post. I added the hard drive to it, which brings the total to $697.87. If that's too much , I can switch the CPU for an Athlon X4. That would shave off a few bucks.
OP this is wat u should do. u should wait for the old republic to come out and intill then learn how to build a pc looking up guides. Come up with a build of what u think u would want on ur comp then post ur build for ppl here to critique and judge. technology is only goin to get better and cheaper as u wait so u should hold off buying as much as possible if u can. if u want to build it now i dsuggest making a new thread to ask help on making a build that u can put together. also give us a price in that thread

Why not? That's the cheapest 1TB drive I could find.
Seagate has had quality issues ever since they aquired maxtor.
He'll more than likely have problems with it withing the fist year or two, use this samsung instead

yes but no all of them fail if that were the case mine would have been in the trash already...but no its still going strong and if it does fail then that gives me the opportunity to upgrade my hdd and do a fresh install on my 64gb kingston ssd

The only drives that fail more often are the deathstars, so named because they die constantly.
