I'm going to buy a new desktop to play Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game's release date hasn't been scheduled yet, neither has the Beta testing. I've already brought this up in the forums at the official website and I got a lot of different answers. What do you guys think? Which one would you get? Which one do you think would run Star Wars: The Old Republic better? http://www.amazon.com/Titanium-Gamer-Quad-Core-processor-Microsoft/dp/tech-data/B003IQAVIY/ref=de_a_smtd or http://www.amazon.com/CyberpowerPC-Desktop-Athlon-2-9GHz-Socket/dp/B0036Z4MG4/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_1

I would spend the time from now until it is launched learning as much as I can about building computers myself.

Neither are very good for gaming but if I had to choose, personally I would go for the second one

They both have pretty weak video cards, to be honest. I wouldn't recommend either of them. Hold on a second. I'll be back.

I want Windows 7 to come with it. Right now I have Windows XP running on an old Acer laptop. I want the whole package deal in my new desktop. Peripheals and monitor included would be nice but not required. I just want a good working desktop for less than 600 dollars.

That's funny considering it's right next to the computer you recommended on the same site. So what's it gonna be? Speaking of which here's one from Buy.com. http://www.buy.com/prod/cyberpower-gua103se-mid-tower-desktop-pc-amd-athlon-ii-x4-640-3-0ghz/q/loc/111/217656387.html

The one I found comes with a Quad Core and a Decent Low/Midrange GPU meanwhile the one you found Comes with a low end Dual core and slow integrated graphics. The one you found on Buy.com is pretty much the same as the first two you linked and not recommended.

Recheck that post. I added the hard drive to it, which brings the total to $697.87. If that's too much , I can switch the CPU for an Athlon X4. That would shave off a few bucks.

Thanks man. That really helps a lot. Yeah. It's kind of more than what I want to spend but an Athlon X4 will work as good. Thanks again.

OP this is wat u should do. u should wait for the old republic to come out and intill then learn how to build a pc looking up guides. Come up with a build of what u think u would want on ur comp then post ur build for ppl here to critique and judge. technology is only goin to get better and cheaper as u wait so u should hold off buying as much as possible if u can. if u want to build it now i dsuggest making a new thread to ask help on making a build that u can put together. also give us a price in that thread

The only drives that fail more often are the deathstars, so named because they die constantly.
