hello...

i wanna buy a new laptop , it will be for editing use like: AutoCad and ADOBE collection -photoshop, indesighn, etc...-

my limit is 800$

i looked for some as in today -and i'll tomorrow- and found only 2 good choice:

Compaq Presario CQ61-225EE -my main target-

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01767450&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3982171

2.10 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500

3GB RAM DDR2

NVIDIA GeForce G 103M WITH 1790 MB total (512 MB dedicated)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-G-105M.13790.0.html

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_g105m_us.html

2:30 hour battery

15'6 LED LCD

the rest on its link ...

the other one that did catch my mind was from Packard bell... OMG i wouldnt accept Acer as im looking at them as low class notebooks , so what about this one ??? but to tell the truth its speceficaion are -i think- as the compaq above.. but it's ULV so i'll give you the specs and you compare:

Packard bell butterfly_s-fc-002ac .... i couldnt find its specs page but i'll right it here

http://packardbell.co.uk/showroom/notebooks/easynote-butterfly-s-1769.html

Intel® Core™2 Solo Processor ULV SU3500 (3M Cache, 1.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) -powered by centrino-

3GB RAM DDR3

Mobility Radeon HD 4330 with 512 MB Dedicated and -i think up to 1790 MB total-

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4330.13973.0.html

http://ati.amd.com/products/MobilityRadeonhd4300/index.html

8 hours battery life

13.3" HD LED LCD

and the rest is usual specs : wifi, blutooth , etc...

so which one will do more mainly for the graphics design and editing and then for regular use and live longer??

what do you think of Packard bell compared to hp and presario series especially it had a black history in computers field??

i tried to compare depending on vista rating but it confused me even more...

check here to compare the CPU's:

http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=39311,37133,

BTW they are both at the same price 800$ ;)

the mic with you buddies :)

I'd suggest a desktop. More for your money, and better performance.

If your set on a laptop make sure the specs match up with photoshop or w/e your using.

Since this is probably for school usage as well? I would get a vostro 1320. Customize it to your pleasing, I own the older 1310, runs Jaunty Jackalope very nicely :D

Ddr3 is not that important, well if those are your only options, I guess go for the Presario, but I don't know much about that graphics card. Also I don't recommend gaming graphics cards that much for programs like pro-e(if you are going to use this) but they usually work.

well i dont mind AMD, but with laptops always aiming for intel, desktops for AMD ....

ok see those two models i found also with the same price, and plz compare them with the ones at the topic:

HP Pavilion dv5-1215ee Entertainment Notebook PC

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01657896&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us⟨=en&product=3877199

DELL STUDIO 1555

2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6400

3 GB RAM DDR2

320 GB HDD

CAM, BLUETOOTH, WIFI B/G

15.4"

DOS -NO OS-

256MB dedicated graphics, but the problem im not sure of the card type.. it would be :

Intel Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

or

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570

anyways if it was one of those 2 cards, will it be able to outperform the gpu of presario ,pavilion or packard bell ????

and what do you think if those new models i mentiond now?

G105 / G103m are horrible gpu from nvidia belive it the Lowest id go wtith the GxxxM Series is the GeForce GT 120M
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-280M-SLI.17191.0.html
this is where they do category the quality of video card in 5 group + (Oldies of 1995-1998 = Grade 6)

Grade 1 = Top quality usally not find in any laptop in north america under 900$ Price range
Grade 2 = standart Quality = usally found in laptop at 500-800$ unless they screw you
Grade 3 = Great at the top / middle but going bad = Outdated video card / Low power
Grade 4 = Weak But Crush all Intel GMA 950 / 965 / X3100 Express = It pretty nostalgic such as intel GMA 950 God Damn i hate it..
Grade 5 = Abysmal That video card power of 2001 in Desktop (INTEL GMA 950 I CURSE YOU)
Grade 6 : Commodore 64 OF laptop I clearly remember the model on Grade 6 it played Warcraft I human & ORC ;)

Sucks to be you unless you go with some obscure brand name ibuypower junk. They used to make cheap laptop with 9600m gt's Asus and Acer but they upped the price since that time.

For $1100 you can get a worthy laptop though.

Probably the best price:performance ratio notebook out there.

Yes : that why the HD 4570 was the best option you ad since yuo can't afford something such as 9600M GT it all based from the notebook gpumark and from all gpu that appeared in laptop that HD 4570 was winning by far in gaming peformances

plz check my last two posts :) i found 9600gt and 9600gs at my price in ACER ASPIRE series 6930 & 6935, but im not sure of the quality of acer's, do you think it's a good one on the long term??? about HD4570 as i posted it found on hp pavilion but with extra 100$ after all im not looking for gaming on it as far as im sure of it, cause it will be only for GRAPHICS DESIGNING , so i need a graphics card on a good brand laptop to do my job with peace of mind.. these are the GPUs which is avalible at laptops of my budget: HD 4570 9600gs 9600gt 9200gs 9500gs G105 G103 can anyone plz resort the above GPUs based on its power in GRAPHICS DESIGNING ??? and based on the order that you will advise me with, i'll buy a laptop from hp or acer sorry for making this taking a longer time, i think im ready as soon as the ordered list will be posted here waiting for reply ^^

I think it's a tie between the 9600gt and 4570, though neither will run the programs you want brilliantly, you can get a laptop with a FireGL car which would be much more suited to your use

9600M GT si better on notebookcheck gpu chart then the HD4570 and it doesn't lies ;)
But The Other laptop such as 102M or 9400M GS rebranded that whas bad stuff and nvidia should be sued to make you think it strong because of number :P

the 9600M GT is ranked 60th : The HD4570 is Ranked 74th

acer is good Stuff specially the aspire series don't worry iv seen lot of laptop there LCD monitor even tough they can lack of number of pixel they are in top of the most beautiful qualtiy LCD compare to some HP / and specially Dell I seen in 15.4 & 17 inch laptop when i was just checking how the laptop are evolving in price range in bestbuy and other place around

my father Dell Latitude D830 is having a higher res monitor so better apparently they say for picture but we look picture on both screen just cause Acer as Better Quality LCD screen then the Latitude D830 Standard Monitor well it was better to watch our vacation picture on mom laptop because of that

but gaming wise the laptop of my father better cause it as a little better cpu & more ram & GMA 965 VS GMA 950 in the acer aspire Even tough i hate Intel :P GMA So much you have no idea : but I keep look around it pretty good Stuff won't let you down i think so

if there in some real store you can notice ur self those LCD Screen On Laptop Toshiba ad as well some good one and the medium end / high end hp / Asus / Gateway / Msi it depend of model but anyway what you really care for a laptop is more for the power inside it

and then if you have money and there over 10 model around same price with same power around then you start looking for the Design of Keyboard / Screen Dynamic Contras but what is seem to be lame is they don't display it On Hardware spec so you'r supposes to know if the LCD Screen is Great looking or not from ur eye but they will tell if you it a WUXGA such as 1440x900 simialry or 1680x1050

as for the ram ? you know ram of today specially from website like newegg.com are so not expansive so some notebook memoryDDR2 / DDR3 so you can put 2x2GB easy it the max most of laptop support since all laptop i seen come with 2 channel slot = but i seen some support 2x4GB rare tough

ok acer is good now thank god ^^

but for sure i wont take any brand with intel GMA lousy cards, i'll take nvidia then ati if equal and cheaper ...

i'll go do my last check on market and make my move

RAMs are easy on me and the look is last thing to think about

always:

1-specs

2-brand

3-price

I suggest building a small desktop computer and carry around a keyboard and mouse, and somehow tape or fuse the monitor with the small case. :D
