One of my friends has whichever Asus has the GTX660m and he loves it. Â Hasn't had any problems yet.
[QUOTE="junky6"]they tried to make be an Asus and I said no no no.. Just kidding, but the G75VW is not cost effective: 1. budget? 2. games? 3. screen size? 4. other requirements?ShoTTyMcNaDeSWell I'd like to keep it under $1k if possible. I usually play FPS, RPG, MMO, Racers and Adventure type games. As far as the screen goes, Id like to have between 15-17".
it's hard to buy a good gaming laptop under 1K. but if you can find a gaming laptop with the spec you gave under 1k than by all means get it.
get atleast GeForce 760M. i was planning something like 770M or 780M myself, so i don't need a new laptop after a year. sure, they cost more, but it's worth saving some extra cash for them.
e: oh you had $1k limit. well, i think you can find a laptop with 760M for that budget.
Sager has one with 765M starting at $1099.

Then you go with the Lenovo Y510p with GT 750 SLI, I7, 8GB DDR3, matte 1080p screen - it is currently the most cost effcective option. The 750M SLI delivers around the GTX 770M performance you can usually find for a lot more.
At the expense of battery life.Â

I thought so too, but it seems that some user found a work through that makes the Y510p works as it should - read in the link. You'll have to pull out the second GPU, but it worths it and you'll get the expected 5-6 hours

Except even when not gaming its pretty poor battery life for a laptop they only got 2 hours 18 minutes of web browisng and 2 hours 49 minutes at idle with wifi off and min brightness. Of course if what you really want is the most power at the cheapest price this looks to be it.http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y510p-Notebook.97470.0.html
