Which one of these should I get ?

I still think is pretty weird that the quad core is so cheap must be some reason for it though.

Or do you guys think I should just lay down an extra 50 bucks or so for something more future proof.. I just want something I can play games well enough on but I am not rich.

(if you want to recommend a different one please try to find it on the same website for that is the store im going buy it)

Thanks beforehand,

All of them are good processors, but the one that will last the longest will probably be the Quad Core. You don't even need something that good, I am just using an AMD 4000+ and I run Bioshock on full. The graphics card is much more important, but I would either choose the Quad Core, or wait for AMD's Quad Core.

Go for the E6850. Quad core is not gonna be necessary for a good while, and Intel's current quad cores are not true quads, merely 2 duals stuck together. Get the 6850 and then buy a quad in 2 or 3 years. If it costs too much, go for the AMD 6000 and upgrade that to one of the AMD quads in a few years.

Well, the Penryn prices will range from $300 to $1100, so I'm sure one of AMD's quads will be affordable for you.

I would suggest either

Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad (4x2400Mhz) S775 2x4MB FSB1066 BOX - 249.90
http://shopv2.hiq24.de/product_info.php?cPath=30_286&products_id=11748&osCsid=e14269bb7eb53840a3a8e0f6e6afefb4

or Intel E6750 tray Core 2 Duo (2x2667Mhz) S775 2x2MB C.FSB133 - 176.90
http://shopv2.hiq24.de/product_info.php?cPath=30_286&products_id=13800&osCsid=e14269bb7eb53840a3a8e0f6e6afefb4

depending on how much you want to spend. Also, possibly a nice inexpensive cooler that will help if you plan to overclock... (the E6750 listed above doesn't come with a cooler)
CPU Kühler Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (775) - 19.90

Are you buying other components too? I assume based on your choices listed above for CPUs that you don't already have a motherboard. For gaming if your budget is tight, it is best to save a little on the CPU so you can get a better video card.

I have the Althon-64 version of that cooler. Nothing can beat them for that price.

I would suggest a P35 chipset for the motherboard... unless you plan to run multiple GPU's later. They are pretty much allgood... just find one that has the features you need at a good price.

AMD Quad Core will probably match the Intel, so you they might be a hair more, but you could probably find the deal with them as the one you found with the intel quad core.
