any reason that i should get the hard copy instead that will make it worthwhile?

Personally, I don't see the point of buying a hard copy anymore. People who are afraid of not having a hard copy are living in the 1990s. I haven't bought a hard copy of a game in a long time and have never had a problem with losing my steam account or anything like that. It's more likely you will lose or scratch a disk than you are to somehow permanently lose a steam account.
So I guess I live in the 90s. O well, great decade. I like having the hard copy for collection purposes. It is not because we are afraid. Well then, enjoy your collection of plastic and cardboard. I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it, until one day you realize it's just taking up space in a closet or something, and throw it all out.

Advantages to both systems really, hard copy = no download and instant backup IF you don't lose it Steam = download anytime, anywhere and will always be in your account. I got the Steam version, one thing that games sometimes get on steam is patches a little bit later than retail. It could be hours or days. But recently, big games on steam get the patches pretty much at the same time so that's not a problem either for BC2. Preference really, I got the Steam copy mainly because USD to AUD conversion is a lot cheaper than retail prices here.nutcrackr
it will be CAD to AUD for me :P
at Einhanderkiller, how could i get one for $20?

Sorry, the coupon code and promo discount expired. Regular price is back to $50 at the EA Store.[QUOTE="RichardStallman"]Avoid Steam when possible.DasVolksLulz, strong hater. OP, you could have picked up BC2 from the EA store the other day for $20. Too bad. Agreed. I like hard copies due to collecting, but can't for the life of me bring myself to hate STEAM. It does too many wonderful things.
the thing with hard copy of games onc eyou get it you can pop it in and install the game and your done in less then a hour.
is you go with steam you will have tow ait for it to download and install and big games like that takes hours or a day.
with hard copys if you live in a place where there is sales tax then you are going to pay more for the game while steam have no sales tax.
ask your self this do i want to play right away or do i want to wait hour sor even a day to play the geme.
also i dont care which format i go with, steam lets you back up the game so you dont have to re download it and wait. so what i do is burn a the back up on to a disc and go online and get the cover art and disc cover art and there i made myself a hard copy of the game.

Sorry, the coupon code and promo discount expired. Regular price is back to $50 at the EA Store. MY MISTAKE! The coupon code still works, but the $10 off promo discount for Bad Company 2 is over. The coupon code will work until April 9. The code is PAXEAST842. Apply it at checkout. EA StoreI normally love Steam, but I decided to go with the physical copy because thePAXEAST842 promo code gets you $20 off until April 9th. I did miss the $10 drop from before, sadly. But still, it's a save.
Steam is awesome get it through steam. You never have to worry about cd's again!BaskervoreBecause it is so hard to keep up with them. I worry about my CDs all of the time .
what happens if i uninstall it, can i make a back up if i chose the downloadable version of bf? assuming if i buy from the EA store
If you buy the downloadable version, you can backup the file that you download. However, the download on the EA site expires after a year. I'd buy the hard copy version or Steam version, personally.what happens if i uninstall it, can i make a back up if i chose the downloadable version of bf? assuming if i buy from the EA store
