Get mor RAM, since you're using Vista and the GTS 250 is just a rebranded 9800GTX+. If you have the cash, i suggest getting a GTX 260 216 or better GPU and a higher PSU. Everything else is good.

OH MAN I JUST BLEW MY LOAD. What an awesome PC! You certainly know your stuff. To be honest, rather than wasting a whole bunch on one videocard, get two midrange ones (NVIDIA SLI is great) because you have the good case to put up with the heat. Also, just to futureproof your already hefty investment, look into DDR3 RAM; you never know; there may be a sale where you are buying it. A good sound system, in all honest, are those hometheaters-in-a-box or 5.1 surround systems-in-a-box because you can get them for about 100-150$ and they're usually dolby 5.1 surround, small, compact and they have auxiliary inputs. Also, you can always shuffle it around and use it with your tv if you're so inclined. In terms of monitors, you can always find great ones at your local store, no need to recommend a specific one here.

Have you considered building the pc yourself? You would save ALOT of money. Seriously, you could build a MUCH faster SLI system with an i7 processor and better components all around... Everyone here would be glad to help. But as for suggestions for that build, you don't need more RAM. 8GB is overkill alreally. But I would get some 1066MHz RAM instead though, since it costs about the same. Another suggestion, go with the Q9550 instead. It's clocked much higher, and has 3 times as much cache (really important). One more thing... the GTS 250 is nVidia's low end video card at the moment. The core 216 GTX 260 is much better, but still cheap. And the GTX 275, 285, and 295 are even better, but they are pricey. I hope this helps. Feel free to come back with anymore questions, and let us know how the build turns out. Congrats btw!

Sorry for the lack of enters in my previous post. Anyway, if you're doing some mixmedia work, like 3D rendering or Video edition, 8 GB of RAM is excellent. What GeordiLaForge says, about higher cache, is also really important. You don't want to bottleneck your computer's power. and yeah; build yourself. It's more fun too. you feel so good after you first fire it up.

more ram? 8gb is overkill for gaming more wont do a thing. vista runs fine on 2gb. The q8200 isn't the best choice for gaming as few game support quads and the faster clocked duals perform better in games but game will run fine on the q8200

This is $1600 AUD. The store just rang me up and said they are replacing the mother board because they don't have that in stock, I didn't catch what motherboard but he said he would prefer it, but he also said the motherboard supports 8gb ram but when they connected the 8gb, the computer did not start up, neither did it start up with 6gb but it starts up with 4gb. So now I have downgraded ram a bit, better motherboard and might upgrade the videocard with the spare cash left over from the RAM or I will invest the money in a better CPU. What do you all think? Also this is at a place called Geek Central located next to highpoint

switch out the GTS 250 for a 4850/4870 (they are alot faster and getting alot cheaper and switch the Q8200 for a intel E8200 or Intel E8400 then overclock it. The dual cores are still faster with most things than dual cores and they can OC quite easily with adequate cooling. I have a E8400 at 4ghz right now and it stays below 50c in brisbane.

that is a very solid rig no doubt, and as for the 260 being one of the top cards? it is a good card yes, but there are a few notable ones that are better then it, the 4870x2, gtx285, gtx295, probably a few more

Decent PC but you could've saved so much if you built it yourself.

You could've gotten a GTX 260 SLI setup with an i7 for that price.

And GTS 250 is a good card, but not top 10 on the market.

Keyboard and mouse are top-notch.

It's a good PC if you don't mind the cost and you can't build it yourself.

Yeah, you really don't need more than 4 gb. RAM is the last thing I would upgrade on that build.
