I am not THAT much of a Guild Wars fan...though it was my first ever MMORPG....and i thought it was fantastic...and some parts of it still is...such as the graphics, music and the always changing login background screen. After GW's i bought WoW...and i got addicted to it like 99.99% of its players...but the monthly fee just...started to annoy me..so....i began to look back at Guild Wars...when i left Guild Wars, none of its expansions where released, but now that i look back, 2 expansions have been released and a 3rd will soon very much follow. It is preogressing fast. I learnt that Guild Wars 2 is underdevelopment and read up on some of its new features...such as different races, being ale to "jump" and "swim" and some sort of proffession system (not sure 100% how it works). So it is slowly becoming to be VERY VERY similar to WoW...but the better bit is THERE IS NO MONTHLY FEE going to be applied to it...(so i have heard). So my WoW montly gamecard has run out...and i was wondering if i should buy all 3 Guild Wars expansion packs and continue playing with them, OR should wait for GW2?

Also...another quik question about Guild Wars 2, do you guys and gals think that the classes found in Guild Wars and its expansions will be also found in Guild Wars 2?..

Thanks!!!

Welcome back! Arenanet has done some groundbreaking work on this game and as you stated in GW2 they will turn the MMO genre upside down with no instanced, free to play.. open MMO. I wouldn't wait for GW2 dive in and get all the expansions like I did because each has its strong and weak points but they are all great! Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North plus the original Prophecies should be in every PC gamers library imo. About the professions....I wouldn't mind them bringing back the same ones because it would be great to see them in GW2 as long as they create many pther professions to add to the list we all will be happy. Keep your eye on GW2 because like I said it will change the genre...for the better.

Can't say on the professions, though I suspect they will go with the "if its not broken" theory on that one. I'm currently playing guildwars (I have all 3 campaigns and the expansion), If you decide you want to get back into it and have the money, get all the campaigns and the expanstion. If you want to get one at a time here is a general breakdown of each:

Nightfall: African inspired, similar to the original guildwars campaign in scope. Heros (henchmen you take with you and level) in this one.

Factions: Asian inspired, Faster experiancing, and more pvp options.

Eye of the north: The expansion, added quests, heros and content for level 20 characters.

Not yet :)

Even with Guild Wars 2 there will be NO MONTHLY FEE.

I say get NightFall, then OEOTN, and then get whatever other chapters you might want/need. By the time you are done with that, the Beta for GW2 should be out. :)
