So I've been a console gamer my whole life but I've finally decided to get a gaming computer, I'm ordering it from Cyberpowerpc.com. I am going to list the specs and I just want to know if it will be able to play pretty much any game and not be outdated for a year. Thanks in advance for the replies!

Agree with above. You'll get better value if you build it to exactly what you need.

Dell and Alienware offer a lot of customization and specialize in high end gaming rigs. They're expensive but you get what you pay for.

I don't know which motherboard that is but judging by the name it's a crossfire (amd) based board which I don't think is necessary with one card. You won't need liquid cooling either unless you're going to be overclocking the processor and I don't think you would have to overclock it anyway.

So the I5 2500k is better than the 3570k? As for the other replies, I'm not building myself. This is how I'm doing it. I am simply asking if this is a good setup to run any game I want and if you guys have suggestions as for what to change, thanks though.

I am overclocking by 10%. The water cooling system was cheap so I went with it. This whole setup listed is running me about 1200$

GPU is the graphics processing unit. I think he means the graphics card. These places will try to sell you unnecessary extras. Be wary of that. The 3570K is better than the 2500K.

The 3570k is slightly better.

I don't understand people. You will save a thousand dollars easy if you build it yourself. It's so amazingly simple to do it, it's not even funny. There's a whole forum about PC hardware FULL of people who will help you if you have any questions.

I would recommend a better video card. I would recommend going with a video card from AMD's or Nvidia's current lineup (7000 series and 600 series respectively). Also, if this is for gaming there isn't any reason to get 16GB's of RAM since 8GB is more than enough (and will be for some time).

Yeah, everyone over at the hardware forum can give you some good advice. But here are some quickies:

- don't bother with a liquid cooling system or paying for a 10% overclock

- not enough GPU. Try and get a GTX 670 as it's pretty much the best bang for your buck at the moment. You can sacrifice in the CPU department.. or well, could.. if it wasn't a pre-built

- you don't need cooling fans for your hard drive

- don't buy a wireless card for gaming

- you don't need to buy an internal USB hub. Every motherboard comes with a ton of USB connections

- that crossfire motherboard is a waste with a single card, but.. pre-built. If you're only going with a single GPU, you can spend less than a hundred bucks on a motherboard

By cutting out a couple of those things, you can put that money towards a GTX 670, and not sure what your sound solution is, but you may want to consider a good headset or headphones and a mic.

^ Agreeing with the post above. Save money on all those things and maybe a 500GB HDD, 8 GB RAM, and get a GTX 670 instead.

edit* Also get rid of LEDs, noise reduction, and do you really need a Blu-ray drive?

Thanks bro you've been very helpful. Why shouldn't I do the overclock? And the GTX 670 is nvidia right? And someone said above not to go with 16gb of ram, why not? I might not need it all but it will just make it faster right? And to everyone else, your saying if I buy the parts seperate and build it myself I can get all that for half of what I'm paying? So 600$?

So I was looking for another motherboard because you all say it's overkill but it's one of the cheapest ones. THere is only one cheaper by 10$ which is the:[CrossFireX] Biostar TZ77B Intel Z77 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/IRST, Lucid Virtu MVP, Toverclocker, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 2x PCIe x16 (1 Gen3, 1 Gen2) 2x PCIe x1 & 2 PC

As for the video card the GTX 670 is 200$ more which I can't afford. It seems like the AMDs are a lot cheaper I've just always heard Nvidias were the best. What are your opinions on amd's and whats a good one?

As for the water cooling and other stuff you guys think is unecessary it's only 30$ so it's like why not get it even if its not necessary.

1.You can overclock yourself VERY easily, it's a waste of money to pay for it.

2.Yes, the GTX 670 is Nvidia.

3.16gb wouldn't make it faster, but I suppose it would be more futureproof.

4.You won't get it for half the money, but you should save a decent amount.

It looks fine as-is.

You'll get better value building it yourself.

But if you're not comfortable with that, what you posted will do the job, just don't be surprised if a fan dies or the power supply blows.

Cyberpower aint Apple ya dig.

Overclocking is overrated and I don't recommend doing it in the beginning.

Do it when the hardware is older and you're ok with possibly damaging it.

One of my rigs was OC for a year, then I turned off the OC and it wouldn't boot.

Basically the OCing melted the transistors so they only worked when the OC was on.

The sad part is I didn't even notice performance difference.

I don't OC anymore unless I'm using an older system that I'm ok with f*cking up.
