Buying orange box?

So I'm planning on getting the orange box because I love TF2 and really want to support Valve. I was just wondering If I can activate TF2 on my friends Account and HL2 and portal on my account. So that me and my friend can play TF2 together. I am just wondering if this is possible PS: I'm buying disc not digitally off steam. So is it possible to activate TF2 on my friends account and HL2 and portal on mine?

As the guy above said, it really depends on if own any of the 5 games in orange box if you can split it up. In my case, I already owned HL2 and Episode 1, so when I bought orange box, I was able to gift those 2 extra games to a friend and I got the 3 games I didn't previously own on my personal account.

His friend would have to own HL2 or Episode 1 in order for him to be able to gift it back to him.
