I'd get a less expensive case, but thats just my personal preferance.

You'll have to wait till your GPU get back in stock too. :P

Other than that it's a good show, old bean!

Looks great.

I would have gotten a Zalman CPU cooler/heatsink, but that's about it.

Yeah IF you do some serious OC'ing for you CPU I'd opt for the Zalman coolers but if not then stay with that, plus the Zalman is a bit more expensive.

I'd say get a better power supply and cpu cooler, depending on what you're doing. If you're leaving everything at stock, the cpu cooler you have will probably be fine. If you're doing some overclocking, the thermaltake v1 is pretty good, although you may want to go liquid if you're doing serious overclocking. Also, if you plan to run that 4870 in crossfire at any point, you'll definitely want the better power supply. Go antec or thermaltake. Here's the power supply I just bought for my new rig: http://microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0281688.

I plan on overclocking to 3.6ghz, and then ill see how far it can go up with decent temps.

I also dont plan on crossfireing two HD 4870s.

k then i'd probably go liquid cooling for the cpu, and still consider a better power supply.

Yeah get the Corsair 650TX to be a little more future proof. It doesn't cost much more and it'd be safer if you overclock your HD4870.

Huh? You can get 3.6ghz on stock cooling and stock vcore with next to no temp gains. and I was going to get the 650-watt at first.

But I didnt think I would need it.

The 550 watt corsair you're getting will be fine for the HD4850 OR the HD4870 so I don't know why people were saying you needed the larger 650 watt for the HD4870, and the AC freezer 7 pro is a great heatsink for the money and will do absolutely fine taking your wolfie to 3.6ghz.

I'm not a fan of 2 gig stick R.A.M, spend the extra$$$ and get the 620 watt Corsair P.S.U. plus a better C.P.U. cooler.roulettethedog
Im only going to OC to a 3.6ghz, and see if I could get better. But not really going to care if i dont.

So I think the cooler im getting is fine for that. Why do I need a 620-watt power supply?

AND

Should I get

HD 4850, Corsair 550 watt and Z-2300 speakers ($200,$100,$90) $390

OR

HD 4870, and Corsair550 watt ($310, $100)$410

I currently have X-530 5.1 speakers, but I think the 2.1 Z-2300s would be better.

if you're looking for brute strength then yeah the 2300's blow yours away, but you should get a little more bass out of your x-530's. pretty much the same higher frequencies. I would personally just stay with what you have. If you want to spend $100 on a 2.1 speaker system, go with the bose companion 2 series. that should blow the z-2300's out of the water. trust me, i've heard them before. delivers power and incredible sound.
