I started getting a weird buzzing noise coming from my computer and I'm not sure what it is.

I thought it was the power supply so I installed a new one but the noise will not go away.

Also, I unplugged the harddrive and the noise continues so I know it's not that.

The buzzing sounds like an old tv set or a monitor that isat too high of arefresh rate.

My guess would be a fan.
Stick you head down near the case and try to find it, it shouldn't be that hard to locate where it is coming from.
Also check the CPU and the northbridge fan.

this happened to mee too, on my old dell 8250. turns out the floppy drive went bad, disconnect the power from it and it should be fine. if you dont have a floppy drive, i have no idea what it could be.
