I dont love Gears Of War.
With that being said... i do enjoy Gears Of War 2 alot more then gears1.
I hated the gears1 online and the singleplayer good but kind of average. The new HORDE mode in gears 2 is alot of fun though.
Overall Gears1 = 7/10 imo
and Gears 2 = 8.5/10 imo
I was a bit disappointed in the ol' Gears to be honest, perhaps my expectations were too high. The environment was very linear, the gameplay felt a bit shallow with rinse & repeat tactics that became noticeably repetitive.
I only played the campaign, though admittedly, COOP through the campaign is a great feature! In addition, perhaps there's more to love if multiplayer is taken under consideration (I play precious few games in MP, primarily an SP gamer).
TBH, I played Gears around the same time as TimeShift (both on PC) and what I find boggling is how Gears is considered so much of a better game. To me anyway, they had a very similar level of quality and feel. One uses cover and the other a time manipulation mechanic obviously, but I'd still consider them nearly par with one another.
To point out faults and/or personal preferences does not necessarily mean a game has no merit though. See the 7/10 kozzy rated the game? I could likely go along with that 8)
 Imo, Gears of War is a bland, and very boring game overall. I couldn't even play the second one more than 30 minutes, because the entire time I was thinking to myself "This again?!". :evil:HondaSnake
I guess it has something to do with the fact that those first 30 minutes *are* similar to the first Gears, that's what all the good reviews and previews say.
i liked both of them, but they do tend to feel a little "point and clicky" at times
i'll buy the third
:(
six hours long
no replayability
sub-average multiplayer
annoying NPCs (yes, youre a football player, now shutup Cole Train)
relative to other PC games, it had bland visuals.
