 Very bottom: *my question*

 Below: *back story*

I basically did all this work and assembled a great new computer for our family. But now that we will be getting it, my Dad says I play too many games. (um...1-2 hours of games a day for a gr.10? yea...right...). Anyway, he said he will be setting up an admin account for himself alone, and I figure that means my time spent on the computer will be EXTREMELY limited, probably only allowed on when I am actually not home (at martial arts training, or outside, etc.).

My question is, Is there any way for a restricted user to bypass the admin account, and have admin privelages without my Dad (supposed to be only admin), knowing? Because he will not be expecting me to do this, and will not check.

Please help, and thank you for actually taking time to read, and maybe suggest or tell me what to do.

P.S. I have looked over the web, but they are in random forums who wuickly get off topic, and ask about unrelated issues that do not get answered. Please help mr fellow Gamespot users!

I wasted lots of time playing games in High School, I hated when my dad wouldn't let me play, but to be honest you'll appreciate it when you're older.  I mean I still play games, but I don't let it waste my time anymore

U bought an assembled computer right? well on XP u always need to creat 2 admins in order to creat restricted users acounts. When u install windows it ask u to put in a password for the default admin which is comonly used as an account, which should only be used if there is any problem with the pc and the other admin (which is the first "custom" created acount on the PC since in order to create acountes there must be atleast 2 admins). In ur case its loginname would be "name of ur dad". The hidden admins name is by default "administrator". Usually when u buy a pc the ones who install windows usually leave the space for the System admin password blank. So try this rebot ur PC and press F8 before the windows xp loading screen apears. a list with some options will appear. look for the option "boot in save mode /error test mode sth like that" as far as i there are some similar options to this one use the one who simply says "boot in save mode /error test mode" nothing else. then u will get to the welcome screen and if u are luck the admin acount wont have a password so u can creat new acounts using the adim acount and set the desired privileges for ur acount or create a new one. Ah dont worry, if u rebot after that windows will load like every time so dont worry that someone finds out that u bootet in save mode.

If a password is then well u will need to look for a hax

You don't have to go into safe mode, you can just log off and press CTRL+ALT+DEL at the welcome screen. You will get the classic log on screen and you can just put in "Administrator" for username and leave the password field blank. hopefully your dad doesn't about that account and hasn't set a password on it.

Uhmm...I wouldn't recommend it but the only way I know to reliably prevent that is to do a clean reinstall and set yourself up as the owner (that way they can't override your admin privileges and drop you down to limited). Then you have full control over the system, including other administrator accounts.
