I currently have a Pentium D 2.8GHz processor and a MSI Nvidia 8600GT.

In Call Of Duty 4, all graphics settings are set to off(Shadows, etc.), water detail set to low, texture settings set to auto with no AF, and resloution set to 1024x768.

My question is, If i change my Pentium D 2.8GHz processor, to a Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, Will I be able to set the graphics settings higher?

Yes, but getting a better graphics card would be even better.

in this case, a video card upgrade will help you much more than a new cpu (though of course if your budget allows, upgrade them both)

If you want to be jump the defaults on the COD4 graphics option menu, you can

First you have to go to the game options menu and and make sure the 'Enable Console' setting is set to Yes

Now you can access the console at any time by pressing the '~' key (below ESC)

now you can input commands into the console, here is one very useful

seta r_forceLod [0,1,2,3,4] - (cheat) Sets the Level of Detail (LOD). 0 is High, 1 is Medium, 2 is Low, 3 is Lowest and 4 is None

if you want to force high level detail on the game just imput in the console

seta r_forceLod 0 for high detail

seta r forcelod 1 for medium detail

seta r forcelod 2 for low detail

seta r forcelod 3 for lowest detail

and seta r forcelod 4 for none

you can try the best option for you, but like others said I recommend, you get a better card.

No, it's just using your 4530, the option is used for enabling crossfire if you have a dual gpu setup or a dual gpu card, most games seem to run better if this option is selected even if you have a single gpu. Don't ask me why :D

weird, you should be able to use some high settings, COD4 is old and fairly optimized/not demanding.

maybe you should just upgrade your card u can get something that will play cod4 higher for like 100 bucksish or a lil less, its a well optimized game i mean the game engine is designed to run at 60fps, itd be pretty hard to lower the framerate
