V Sync can have a pretty noticeable impact on performance. Why not just play the game with it turned off?

Triple buffering allows you to gain almost full performance loss with V,sync on and you mean to tell me you guys play with tearing?

I don't notice any significant graphical issues with V-Sync off. So I do not need it on and I have an LCD monitor too.

I played CS:S at 160FPS and tearing is hardely noticeable (only when you do a 360 with a high mouse setting)... I don't think restricting max FPS at 75FPS counts as a loss in perfromance (doesn't cause a lower minimum FPS). Instead of running at 160 it will run at 75, which no one can see the difference.

I don't play with a controller. I despise controllers and consoles in general. And I still think that its not worth turning on v-sync to minimize "some" tearing in return for a massive drop in fps.

When you say you get stuttering, do you mean slowdown?

My problems with stuttering is usually due to overclocking my CPU, but it seems that you didn't do that. Did you try messing around with the refresh rates? It might be that your just not used to such a low FPS.

When I use fraps and go into areas where I do 60fps lock the game still stutters only on 1920x1200 any lower resit works fine. Seems more bug orientated.

In other words, you're experiencing the stuttering even though FRAPS is showing the game as running at 60 FPS? In that case, yeah, it has to be a glitch, not a performance issue.

I use v-sync any time my 8800gtx can handle it, but only for fps. I notice lots of breaks in the graphics when turnining, unless its on. Portal was the most noticable so far. I would recommend turning it off if its giving you problems. It only stops breaks/tears in the graphics.

If V-sync causes problems, disable it. That's the best (and most likely only) solution.

I think I know what you are talking about. Its almost as if you can see Vsync working. Instead of tearing your get a strange "Jitter" or "slow down of the texture.

I think its VSYNC actually slowing down your texture to stick with your monitor. It sucks and I notice it in some games like Bioshock but not in others.

COD4 I notice it a bit. It doesn't do anything with the frames.

I use VSYNC I understand what ya mean. ANd I haven't figured out a way to stop it other then not being OCD about it which is hard trust me

Yea bud exactly but Bioshock tends to dont work welll with V.sync in Dx10. I hope there's a fix for COD4.

I'm having the same problem, even with Vsync Off. The framerate is fine, but there is...stutter.

It's very annoying!

Just download Rivatuner, it allows you to enable triple buffering in directX games, though it can somtimes cause mouse lag, as in when moving the mouse it has a delay on screen.

I had this problem, very annoying. Got rid of it by enabling the Dual Video Cards in the options menu in COD4.

I don't have Dual Video Cards and you may not either but it seems to get rid of the problem.

I have Vsync on and can't stand it off so i can see why it racks you off.
