Nothing really new lol. Though at least the tree climbing perk sounds interesting!

One of my favorite things about CoD 4 were weapon challenges, the only reason I played after rank 55. Well now we can't possibly mount RDS on M1's. Maybe rifle scopes, but not on Thompsons. And I guess they could have weapon camo again. except deserrt replaced with winter, maybe.

Some of the new perks sound cool though.

You can climb trees in CoD5? (monkey perk) Sounds interesting...

I don't know if they wanted to feed off of CoD4's success, but copying the perks is either a attempt to make the game simplistic or just shows their lack of interest in making a good game. I'm guessing it's the later one.

Why isn't Infinity Ward producing this?

What? Every Call of Duty game on the consoles were crap. (With the exception of 4 and 2)

This game isn't going to as good as any CoD game included on the PC because Treyarch is making it. The only good CoD game they made was UO. IMO, Infinity Ward should be the only maker of CoD games, that way they'll be better cause we aren't getting a new one every year, not to mention the suberb quality of their games.

Why isn't Infinity Ward producing this?

Because IW was making CoD 4 when Treyarch began to work on World at War.

CoD 4 was released fall 2007 and they began making World at War somewhere in December 2006 or January 2007.

CoD 4 was the best CoD game, imo. I think it was because I had played every CoD game before(even the crappy PSP game) and the modern setting felt like a good change. I don't entirely support the WW2 theme again, but the Pacific Theatre will be sometime new and nice.

Agree...and the perk system just F'ed it up even more...CoD2 was a much better game online..

I also agree with the poster above me that the WWII genre is tired. Needs a rest, with at most 2 WWII games coming out per year. How much more can they do?

Activision is making WAY too much money to stop this any time soon. Infinity Ward must not be too happy though, the franchise they worked so hard to create is basically getting rap*d by Activision for loads of cash.

I laugh at that. Call of Duty 1 had more mission variety, more exciting battles with better gunplay, much more intensity and a much sharper, faster pace. To top it off, it was much longer, and had more replay value.

In short, Call of Duty's singleplayer campaign completely crushes Call of Duty 4's singleplayer campaign. The only thing that is better in CoD4 is the story, and if you ask me, CoD4's story is mediocre and generic. I'd rather have no pie to eat than have to eat a rotten pie.

I get all giddy whenever I think of the flamethrower. It's gonna be SWEET. It was my favourite weapon in RTCWMyopicCanadian

Why so much hate towards COD here? The COD series has always been about fast and intense action which made COD1 the smash hit that it was. I have enjoyed all the COD games (incl. cod3) and imo they are vastly superior to most if not all shooters which are currently out. As for COD:Waw, I really enjoy the ww2 setting so for me it isn't too much of a problem and the co-op gameplay should add alot of replay value to the SP and I think the MP will do just fine, COD2 is still popular and they based this game on the COD4 formula which isn't a bad start.phil16-psp

I haven't said "why"? Well, because it would take a quarter hour to write an essay to elaborate enough on all my points, and also because I've explained about 3 times in other threads that you happened to have posted in.

Also, what replay value did CoD1 have? More than CoD4's rail shooter SP campaign, that's for sure. It seemed that every time I played CoD1 over and over again, I could enjoy everything - because it was more challenging. Not the same case with CoD4.

My favorite shooter of 2007. Yes, even above Ep2. The story was awesome.
