World War 2 baby! COD is going back to its roots this year. What do you all think about that?
good idea ww 2 with modern graphics should be outstanding and lots of material exists for a great storyline for a sp campaign, plenty of famous battles for a mp campaign now they just have to execute
Very underwhelmed.
They could make 100 more CoD games before returning to WWII and it would still be too soon. The era is tapped out from a basic FPS perspective; unless they do something innovative, or change the story up (either with an alt-history thing like Man in the High Castle, or some really unheard of perspective or story), I won't be impressed.
But I will probably buy it all the same against my better judgement. I enjoyed Infinite Warfare enough.
Er, it's a COD game? If that means yet another 5 1/2 hour corridor-linear scripted-to-death campaign, gimmicky multiplayer and worn-out zombie mode package, I'm not interested.
I really don't know about all this, COD seems dead but if there is any way to revitalize the franchise this could be it!
I'm going to pass like i did with all the others
I only ever owned MW 1,2,3, BO and W@W.
BO killed it and i stopped buying them ever since. I only got MW3 because i liked the MW series. Not to mention, COD comes out every year. Its not worth the cash for a very short game

Black Ops 2 was one of the best so you missed out there.
As for the topic, I've always had fun with COD games but problem on PC is that the population is always low these days so hard to find a match a few months after launch.
Hopefully this new one gets PC gamers back into it.
I'm not mad at it. I'm glad Sledgehammer is finally taking it back, as an OG player that bit is exciting for me and I really hope they deliver on the narrative. I always want to give COD the benefit of the doubt because it WAS a great game to start so I hope this release will live up to the promises.
I heard this one was going to have 48 players maps and also vehicles maybe ?
jesus, if true they are being pretty transparent in their attempt to ape battlefield

You'll never see high populations like the old days of CoD1,CoDUO, CoD2, CoD4, and WaW. As long they keep giving PC gamers the shaft every year. At least dedicated servers and a server browser would be nice.
And like isn't like the game now is only a boring 12-16 players in a match?

It seems they are taking a bit from everywhere. So far from different articles I've read:
- 48 player maps (some, not all)
- Destructible environments (probably not as much as BF)
- Vehicles (rumoured because when you choose a squad, you have to choose a class like Airborne or Infantry etc)
- A social place like the Tower on Destiny
Hard to get excited for another WWII FPS (especially COD). Even though there have not been many WWII FPS over recent years, WWII has been played out in both games and films. Not that epic anymore. I am more interested in the unique character stories about WWII than the huge war itself.
