First, download CPU-Z,(http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php) and under the SPD tab, find out how many RAM slots you have and what kind of RAM you have(DDR or DDR2). Then you need you find a reputable store that sells Laptop Memory. After you pruchase your RAM, you will need you pop open your laptop and remove your old memory if you want and pop your new moduals in. Doing so will void your warranty however.

i don't think upgrading ram would void warranty. i mean ram upgrades are very common. if u have to get ur laptop repaired, just pop in the old ram.

Usually it doesnt void the warranty but anyway, he didnt mean that having different sticks will void the warranty. He probably wanted to said that opening the laptop would do that but mostly, it can be done from the back of the laptop without having to remove except couple screws maybe
