I dont know what to get. Im stuck between Age of Empires for the DS, Galactic Civ 2 the Dread Lords or Rise of Nations. Im relatively new to the strategy scene so I dont know. I have a couple of strategy games though. They're Black and white two and Star-Wars Empire at War. Anyway Thanks All :)

If you want a good strategy game, try what is probably the gr8est strategy game of all time and just go buy ROME: TOTAL WAR and its expansion. (dont foget mods).

I think Age of Empires: Age of Kings for the DS was really well done. Just remember that Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings for the PC is a real time strategy and Age of Empires: Age of Kings for DS is a turn-based strategy. I haven't played Rise of Nations, but enjoyed Age of Empires: Age of Kings on the DS more than I like Galactic Civilizations 2 on the PC. In fact I still play Age of Kings - the hotseat gameplay is great because you can play multiplayer with friends even if they don't have DSes. But to be fair, I do usually enjoy historically-set games more than sci-fi/space-set games.

Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 CPU
WD Raptor HDD
700 watt PSU
XFX 8800 GTX GPU
2 GB Crucial ballistics RAM
ASUS P5N32 E SLI MB
Audigy 2 soundblaster w/optical to reciever
Running on Vista 32-bit

Come out and play!

My friend, strategy is where its at. Depends on what your looking for in a strategy game, there are a few types. If you like resource gathering and building bases, Command and conquer 3 is superb. Looking at something a little less futuristic, Company of Heroes is also superb. Maybe looking for something where resource aint your thing, all you wanna do is blow stuff up and use tactical knowledge, something like Rome:Total War would suit your needs, more futuristic? World in Conflict. :) However, we can always take this back to its roots. Something like Starcraft, imo, the best strategy game of all time, but i love space :P

I would say overall Age of Kings is more fun (though I only know the PC version) but if you're looking for a more challenging and more devious AI, go for Galactic Civilizations II. Especially with the upcoming expansion which will feature unique technologies for each race it should get even more interesting.

First of all Age of empires age of kings is way outdated. Unless your talking about the psp version, but I take it your not. Anyway I say you go for Rise of Nations its a perfected old school strategy game. There isint really a campaign, but there is a world domination, and there are a lot of online games going.

If you are interesetd in the age of empires 1 and 2 saga, and star wars. May I suggest Star Wars: Galactic BattleGrounds. It's basically a game using the Age of empires 2 engine. So it has the Age of Empires gameplay with a Star Wars skin.

I would recommend command and conquer series or starcraft for the noobies, they aren't really to hard to understand, 2 sorts of resources, really easy to get into and doesn't require so much micromanagement. and then if you figure yourself a pro i would say you move on to supreme commander. That game is brutally tactical it's so many different units and counter-units that you really have to play on the edge during the whole game if you want to have even the slightest chance of winning.

But out of the games you want i recommend age of empire 2.

Between 3 of them, I'd pick GalCiv II.
