If there's a game I don't fondly remember from my youth, it's really Dark age of camelot. Took me the whole summer to level my hunter to 50, only to realize that I needed a buff bot to be marginally competitive in emain macha. I still managed to get to rank 3 or 4 by leeching and teaming with others, but I left shortly after Trial of Atlantis. The balance was already a problem, but that expansion pack made it 10x worst, if you were not from the right class and/or in the biggest guild/alliance. I will keep an eye on this game, but there's no way on earth I will support them on KS.

Yeah those really were two of DAOC's biggest problems. The buffbots and the imbalanced classes. Mythic didn't do anything about the buffbots until a year after WoW launched, which was way too late. Then using stupidly OPed new classes to sell your expansions was another really classy act.
I was considering supporting the kickstarter at the $25 level just for nostalgia's sake, but the more I remember the more I think that would be a really bad move.

Be glad you weren't there to see warlocks bursting down targets in literally 2-3 seconds. Really upsetting, I was playing a Runemaster at the time and the Catacombs expansion made my class and every other pure caster instantly antiquated.

I'll call it "My Mother's Toe Jam" if I like. Ever thought perhaps people would not know what the hell Camelot Unchained was or why there is hype about it if we did not call it one of the various cliches for this type of thing, i.e."unofficial sequel" or "spiritual successor"? I did not say it was called Daoc 2, but essentially it is going to be a modern day Daoc. Get over the semantics part of it. And of course Mark Jacobs cannot call it Daoc 2....duh.
As for the other posts, Daoc was not perfect, but it was still one of my favorite MMO's ever. I am excited and will continue to update for those who share that.

Age of Camelot worst mmo ever played and when clicked canceled they charged me 6 months of access and refused to give me back my money. Had to block them from my credit card. Gave game away to a friend and he hated it also.

Seeing as though there are tons of people who don't like WoW, the most successful MMO ever, I think I can live without you and your friend not liking Daoc. And what year was this?
I adored Dark Age of Camelot. It was my first MMORPG and it was a grand experience. I do remember not getting very far, however. or perhaps too much grinding was involved, but with me being a youngster that adored the magical world presented by Dark Age of Camelot, I hold mostly fond memories!
Just read through the posts in this thread. That sure is a lot of hate! I never did get to the Battle Grounds or whatever those PVP areas were called, though.
Dude, stop crying or gtfo. It is a 3 realm rvr game set in Camelot lore with the factions that look just like hibs, mids, and albs......and it is made by the same guy that brought you Daoc who mentions daoc a dozen times while talking about this game. To NOT relate it to Daoc at this point is moronic.
When the game reaches the point where it has an alpha and we have a better idea of what it is going to be then debate the hell out of it. But at this point you're just being an ***. I WILL continue to relate this game to Daoc because the sound of your teardrops are just too inviting.
