 Hi.

When i try to start tiberium wars i get the green EA-logo with tiberium but as it fades out the screen turns black and nothing els happens. Ive updated my drivers on both videocard and monitor. The strange thing is that before i got my new monitor i could play tiberium wars, but since i got the new one i just get the black screen, even if i change back to my old monitor...

Any suggestions on what i can do to solve this?

Just a guess, it might be trying to start the game in a resolution that your monitor doesn't support, so it just blanks out. I'm thinking that because it worked before with a previous monitor, which I'm also guessing wasn't widescreen?

Yea youre right now i have a 22" widescreen and before just an old crap 15" tft-monitor. So, u have any tricks for how i can get it working on my new monitor? Btw, the suggested resolution on my monitor is 1680x1050, wich im also using at the moment.

Try alt+tab switch several times between the applications and maybe it works  - could also be that your firewall is blockiing in the backgrounds and waits for your action to allow or not allow access to the internet for the c&c.exe.  If it is a monitor resolution issue try to reinstall the game.

Right click on desktop and go to properties. Hit the settings tab and go to advanced. Under monitor tab set the refresh rate to like 75-85hz. If it's any higher odds are your monitor does not support that and that's why your game goes black. The monitor is protecting itself from blowing up in your face. lol j/k but the monitor is preventing itself from damaging the screen.

ok thx guys for tryin to helping me!

One hell of a funny thing is that when i rightclicked on the "comand & conquer.exe" (or whatever the chortcut is named) and added " +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050" in the target field it worked i actually played the game for about an hour! =). Everything ran smooth and it looked awesome. But when i quitted the game and tried to start it again i was back at zero again. Now i have the same problem as earlier..

Cant understand this strange behavior...

Unstoppable_1 : my refreshrate is aldready set to 60hz and the "hide rates that can damage the monitor" (or whatever it says, cant translate it from swedish inte english prop, but i guess u know what i mean) is checked.

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9355 The game's supposed to support widescreen natively. Like I said before, maybe the starting resolution is incompatible and blanks the monitor out - I had it happen to me with Generals and setting the res to one the 22" CRT didn't support, and I had to go into an .ini file to change it. Try the first method suggested on the forum to manually set the resolution you want... it seems to use different command line parameters than Battlefield did.

Like some other guys said i think its probably trying to play at a resolution your new monitor can't support.

My advice, back up your save games.. Delete the game and everything associated with the game.

Then re-install and see what happens.
